CITY LOGO
Director of Management Services Thomson introduced Mr. Len Torres,
consultant hired to design a City logo.
Mr. Torres explained his job was to put into form the Council's
visions or concepts of what they would envision for the City logo.
Mr. Torres submitted a questionnaire asking the Councilmembers
to fill it out and mail it to him. From the questionnaire, he
will tally the results and get a clear picture of what is expected
or desired in the City logo.
Council discussion followed a slide presentation by Mr. Tortes of
various City seals in the County and State. Councilwoman McCandliss
coim~ented that the design should also be used as the official seal -
consideration should be given to that.
Further Council comments followed with each Melmber offering
suggestions for the logo: bayfront scene; recreational opportunities;
"A Hometown City"; scene depicting the bay to the mountains.
City Clerk Fulasz remarked that she uses two seals in her office:
the first official seal of the City which simply states: "Incorporated
1911" - this is used for all the mylar maps, and the current City seal
which is used for certification of all documents.
Mr. Torres stated he will take all the suggestions into consideration
and submit three"roughs" to the Council for their comments. The
sketches will include two colors.
