HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1982-10905 RESOLUTION NO. 10905 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ESTABLISHING THE RATE FOR THE UTILITY USERS' TAX BETWEEN JULY 1, 1982 AND DECEMBER 31, 1982 The City Council of the City of Chula vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, Section 3.44.030 of the Chula Vista Municipal Code imposes a utility users' tax on telephone rates at a maximum of 6% and Section 3.44.040 establishes a factor of .00300 for each kilowatt-hour of electrical energy and Section 3.44.050 esta- blishes a factor of .01103 for each therm of gas, and WHEREAS, Section 3.44.150 of the Chula Vista Municipal Code requires that the City Council review the utility users' tax rate at a public hearing at six month intervals, and WHEREAS, said section requires that the City Council make an appropriate adjustment to the tax rate, if necessary, to achieve the purpose and intent of the utility users' tax, and WHEREAS, it has been recommended that the following existing utility tax rates remain in effect for the period between July 1, 1982 and December 31, 1982: Existing Telephone Electricity Gas 5% .00250/kw hour .00919/therm NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby set the utility users' tax rate at .00250 per kilowatt-hour of electricity, .00919 per therm of gas, and 5% for telephone based upon gross receipts for the period July 1, 1982 to December 31, 1982. ~0' -7'/' L ~(~~~A/k 8~ Gordon K.
