HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1983-11288 RESOLUTION NO. 11288 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA ACCEPTING BIDS, AWARDING CONTRACTS, AND SETTING ASSESSMENTS FOR OPEN SPACE DISTRICTS NOS. 1 THROUGH 10 The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, on June 22, 1982, the City Council awarded a contract to Ca1/Scape Maintenance Co., Acacia Landscape Co., and Environmental Care Inc. for Open Space Districts No.4, 8 and 10 respectively, and WHEREAS, said contracts allowed for an extension if work was done satisfactorily for the next year, and WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by the City Engineer on June 1, 1983 to provide landscape maintenance for Open Space Districts Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9 as follows: DISTRICT NO. Redden 11,000 14,980 Ca1/Scape 8,210 12,270 Acacia 9,300 1 9, 260 Environmental Care 18,557 8,700 18,600 11,278 9,840 4,560 30,930 WHEREAS, Cal/Scape is the low bidder for Open Space District Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 9 and Rain-Rite is the low bidder for Open Space District No.6, and it is recommended that contracts be awarded to said companies, and WHEREAS, Bowen & Park is the low bidder on District No.7 but opted to forfeit their bid bond of $96.00 and turn down their contract, and the next lowest bid for this district was Cal/Scape at $1,320, and -1- WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 5612 of the Government Code of the State of California, it is now necessary to establish the assessments for each open space district and to direct the City Engineer to spread said assessment in accordance with the assessment rolls. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby extend the contract for maintenance of Open Space Districts Nos. 4, 8 and 10 to Cal/Scape Maintenance Co., Acacia Landscape Co. and Environmental Care Inc. respectively for fiscal year 1983-84. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby accept said seven bids and does hereby award the contract for Open Space District Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 9 to Cal/Scape and for Open Space District No.6 to Rain-Rite.
