HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 1983-11246 RESOLUTION NO. 11246 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER STREET LIGHTING FIXTURES AND APPURTENANCES TO BE MAINTAINED AND ELECTRIC CURRENT TO BE FURNISHED FOR LIGHTING FIXTURES AND TO ORDER LANDSCAPING TO BE MAINTAINED AND REPLACED FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 1983, AND APPOINTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS IN RELATION THERETO CITY OF CHULA VISTA BAY BOULEVARD STREET LIGHTING AND LANDSCAPING AND MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1983-84 The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Chula Vista to levy and collect assessments within the Bay Boulevard Street Lighting and Landscaping Mainte- nance District No. 1983-84 beginning July 1, 1983. SECTION 2. The improvement may generally be described as the provision of electrical energy for street lighting and landscape maintenance along the frontage of properties on Bay Boulevard from IIEII Street to IIFII Street. The properties on Bay Boulevard from "E" Street to "F" Street are more specifically designated as the Chula Vista Bay Boulevard Street Lighting and Landscaping Maintenance District No. 1983-84 as shown on Diagram and Plan No. 1983-84 and Specifications No. 1983-84, on file in the Office of the City Clerk. SECTION 3. A full and detailed description of the improvements, the boundaries of the assessment districts and any zones therein and the proposed assessments upon assessable lots and parcels of land within the District are contained in the report of the City Engineer on file with the City Clerk. SECTION 4. To expedite the making of said improvement, the City Council may at any time transfer into the Chula Vista Bay Boulevard Street Lighting and Landscaping Maintenance District No. 1983-84 Fund, out of any money in the General Fund, such sums as it shall deem necessary and the sums so transferred shall be deemed a loan to such Fund and shall be repaid out of the proceeds of the assessments provided for in this resolution, and pursuant to the provisions of Section 22657, California Streets and Highway Code, "Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972", referred to herein. -1- SECTION 5. Any lots or parcels of land known as public property, as the same is defined in Section 22653, Part 2, Division 15, Streets and Highways Code, (Landscaping and Lighting Act of 197211), hereinafter referred to, which are included in the said assessment district, shall be omitted and exempt from the assessment to be made to cover the costs and expenses of said contemplated improvement. levy of June Chambers, SECTION 6. That the Chula Vista Star News, a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated with the City of Chula Vista, California is hereby designated as the newspaper in which notice of said public hearing shall be published.
