INTERVIEWS FOR CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION VACANCY (1) ORAL COMMUNICATIONS This is an opportunity for the general public to address the City Council on any subject mailer within the Council's jurisdiction that is not an item on this agendn for public discussion. (State law, however, generally prohibits the City Council from taking action on any issues not included on the posted agendn.) If you wish to address the Council on such a subject, please complete the yellow "Request to Speak Under Oral Communications Form" available in the lobby and submit it to the City Clerk prior to the meeting. Those who wish to speak, please give your name and address for record purposes and follow up action. Your time is limited to three minutes per speaker. Notice is herehy given that the Mayor of the City of Chula Vista has called and will convene a special meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, October 8, 1996 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Public Services Building, 276 Fourth Avenue, Chula Vista, California. MEMORANDUM DATE: September 30, 1996 TO: The Honorable Mayor and City Council FROM: Candy Emerson, Director of Human Resources eo SUBJECT: CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION VACANCY Following is the list of three nominees for the current Civil Service Commission vacancy. This current vacancy is the result of the expiration of Eloy Villa's term and as specified in the Charter, it is the responsibility of the other Commissioners to nominate three individuals for appointment by the City Council. The Commission has reviewed applications for all interested parties and after deliberation, nominates the following: Eloy Villa, Joseph Noble, and James Robertson. In accordance with the Charter, the Council may now appoint one of the three to fill the position. Since the Civil Service Commission has a number of appeal hearings scheduled during the month of October, I respectfully request that this be finalized as soon as possible.
