INTERVIEW FOR CHULA VISTA REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION CATEGORY TWO (FINANCIAL PLANNERlEDUCATOR/COMMUNlTY LEADER) 2. CONSIDERATION OF EXTENDING THE INTERVIEW PERIOD FOR THE PURPOSE OF INTERVIEWING ONE REMAINING APPLICANT FOR A POSITION ON THE CHULA VISTA REDEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (CATEGORY 3, REAL ESTATE DEVELOPER/BUSINESS LEADER) At the Council Meeting of November 29,2005, the Council selected Elizabeth Jackson as a candidate for a position on the newly established Chula Vista Redevelopment Corporation (Category 3). She was unavailable for the interviews scheduled on February 6,2006 and at this meeting. (Assistant City Manager/Community Development Director) Staff recommendation: Council discuss and take action on the interview of candidate. PUBLIC COMMENTS Persons speaking during Public Comments may address the Council on any subject mailer within the Council's jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. State law generally prohibits the Council ji-om taking action on any issue not included on the agenda, but, if appropriate, the Council may schedule the topic for future discussion or refer the mailer to staff Comments are limited to three minutes. ADJOURNMENT to the Regular Meeting of February 14, 2006, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers. BACKGROUND: At the Council Meeting of November 29,2005 the Council selected Ms. Elizabeth Jackson to be interviewed for a position on the newly established Chula Vista Redevelopment Corporation (Category 3 - Real Estate Developer/Business Leader). Ms. Jackson was initially contacted on January 30 and 31, 2006 at both her business and home phone numbers regarding an interview for Monday, February 6, 2006 at 9: 15 p.m. Because the Mayor/Council office was unable to reach Ms. Jackson, this interview was pending her confirmation, which was never received. Per Council direction, Ms. Jackson was contactcd to determine her availability for an intcrvicw on February 14,2006 at 5:00 p.m. Ms. Jackson has confirmed her unavailability at that time, as she will be traveling from Utah.
