RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA ESTABLISHING A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
ENTITLED CMP STORM DRAIN PIPE REHABILITATION
PROGRAM (DR-165) PROJECT AND TRANSFERRING EXISTING
FUNDS FROM CIP "WESTERN CHULA VISTA
INFRASTRUCTURE" (GG-188) TO DR-165 FOR SAID PURPOSE
WHEREAS, as part of ao ongoing program to rehabilitate corrugated metal drainage pipe
(CMP) throughout the City, staff has identified a number of storm drain facilities, which are
deteriorated aod are in need of rehabilitation. The CMP Storm Drain Pipe Rehabilitation
Program (DR-165) Project will remove aod replace those drainage facilities at three locations,
which are in need of rehabilitation; aod
WHEREAS, staff is recommending the establishment of a new capital improvement
project specific to providing the needed rehabilitation to drain facilities, at three locations which
are now deteriorated; aod
WHEREAS, the general scope of the project involves the removal aod replacement of
existing corrugated metal pipe, induding all labor, material, equipment, tools, traosportation,
mobilization, traffic control, removal aod disposal of existing improvements, aod other work
necessary to construct the project in accordaoce with City staodards; aod
WHEREAS, the Environmental Review Coordinator has reviewed the proposed project
for compliaoce with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and has determined that
the project qualifies for a Class I (c) (Existing Facilities) categorical exemption pursuaot to
Section 15301 of the State CEQA Guidelines. Thus, no further environmental review is
necessary; aod
WHEREAS, there is no impact on the General Fund as the funds for these improvements
have been provided for as part of the Western Chula Vista Infrastructure Finaocing Program; aod
WHEREAS, staff recommends the traosfer of existing funds in the amount of $308,994
from CIP GG-188 "Western Chula Vista Infrastructure" to DR-165 for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula
Vista does hereby authorize establishing a capital improvement project entitled CMP Storm
Drain Pipe Rehabilitation Program (DR-165) Project aod transferring existing funds in the
amount of $308,994 from CIP "Western Chula Vista lnfrastructure" (GG-188) to DR-165 for
said purpose.
