Dated: February 27, 2002 /t_~f~,ca ,~/~ Donna Norris, Assistant City Cleric NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CITY OF CHULA VISTA FY 2002-03 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM AND ANNUAL PLAN NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE CHULA VISTA CITY COUNCIL has continued the public headng from Uamh 5, 2002 at 4:00 p.m. to Mamh 12, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. due to cancellation of the March 5, 2002 meeting. The public hearing will be held in the City Council Chambers, Public Services Building, 276 Fourth Avenue and will discuss the HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NEEDS and on proposals to meet these needs through the use of the COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP (HOME) PROGRMS. For FY 2002-03, the City of Chula Vista is expected to receive approximately $2.0 million in CDBG funds and approximately $935,000 in HOME funds. The City proposes to use these funds for public facilities and improvements, public services, fair housing, affordable housing, and other community needs. These activities will primarily benefit Iow and moderate income households, with a minimum of 70% of the funds targeted to benefit Iow-income households. The public is invited to testify on the proposed draft Annual Plan to address the housing and community development needs of the City and to comment on the use of CDBG and HOME funds. The following COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES are proposed: 1. Provide assistance to organizations serving the varied needs of the community 2. Construct public improvements and improvements 3. Promote economic development and job creation 4. Provide assistance to community organizations for neighborhood revitalization and affordable housing 5.
