RESOLUTION NO. 11922
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING A NEGOTIATED PROPERTY TAX EXCHANGE
RELATING TO THE BONITA LONG CANYON ESTATES ANNEXATION
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, Bonita Long Canyon Estates was annexed to the
City during the latter part of 1982, and
WHEREAS, the subject property was not detached from the
San Diego County Flood Control District because concerns were
expressed by downstream property owners and the County of San
Diego that development of the property would impact other lands
downstream, and
WHEREAS, the developer of
filed an application with LAFCO to
County Flood Control District, and
the property, McMillin, has
detach the property from the
WHEREAS, Revenue and Taxation Code Section 99 requires
the negotiation of any exchange of property tax revenues occa-
sioned by jurisdictional changes between the areas affected, and
WHEREAS, under such circumstances the Board of Super-
visors is authorized to negotiate such property tax revenue
exchanges on behalf of service areas or special district, and
WHREAS, the Board of Supervisors has negotiated with the
affected special districts and city to determine an equitable
exchange of property tax revenues applicable to such juris-
dictional changes as shown in Exhibi t "A", attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference as if set forth in full, and
WHEREAS, the County Board of Supervisors has approved a
negotiated property tax distribution formula that differs from the
Master Property Tax Agreement in effect in 1982 as well as the new
agreement approved in November, 1984.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve a negotiated property
tax exchange relating to Bonita Long Canyon Estates as set forth
in Exhibit "A".

Basis for Transfer: It was agreed that the Flood Control District share of base and
ATI would be split and allocated according to the historic City (41%) I County (59%)
ratio, the same as if the allocation was done under the MPTA in conjunction with
annexations.
