RESOLUTION NO. 11503
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA ADOPTING THE SERIES 6 REGIONAL GROWTH
FORECASTS FOR CHULA VISTA
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as
fo 11 ows:
WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista has worked with the San Diego
Association of Governments (SANDAG) to update the Regional Growth Forecasts;
and
WHEREAS, confirmed data from the 1980 U. S. Census and current land
use information was used as a basis for these Forecasts; and
WHEREAS, the Forecasts show the likely future size of the City of
Chu1a Vista and the Chu1a Vista Planning Area based on the expected
implementation of the Chu1a Vista General Plan between 1980 and 2000; and
WHEREAS, all 16 cities in the San Diego region and the County of San
Diego participated in the process in order to assure that local General Plans
and Community Plans will complement each other in their implementation and the
implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, these Forecasts will be used by SANDAG in all regional plans
to assure their consistency and accuracy; and
WHEREAS, the City of Chu1a Vista intends to use the Forecasts for all
General and Community planning, sphere of influence, public facility and local
transportation studies to insure their consistency and accuracy; and
WHEREAS, the Forecasts will be updated periodically at the direction
of the SANDAG Board; and
WHEREAS, the adoption of these Forecasts wi 11 have no effect on the
State subventions received by the City of Chu1a Vista.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Chu1a Vista hereby adopts the Series 6 Regional Growth Forecasts for the City
of Chu1a Vista and the Chu1a Vista Planning Area and certifies their use by
SANDAG for all regional studies and plans described in the FY 1983-84 Overall
Work Program and subsequent Work Programs until the Forecasts are updated;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Chu1a Vista will work with
SANDAG to use the Forecasts for planning at the local level.
