RESOLUTION NO. 11842
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING EIR-84-8, BAYFRONT "E" STREET
TROLLEY STATION
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, an additional trolley station is to be con-
sidered near the intersection of "E" Street with the Metropolitan
Transit Development Board's (MTDB) South Bay Trolley line, and
WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista and the County of San
Diego have agreed that the County of San Diego is responsible for
the preparation of the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for
the above facility and the City of Chula Vista is responsible for
the "lead agency role" as provided in the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA), and
WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista issued a Notice of
Intent of Draft EIR on this project on June 28, 1984, and the
County of San Diego prepared a Preliminary of the Draft EIR, and
WHEREAS, the Draft EIR was issued for agency and public
review on September 21, 1984 and legal notice of availability was
given through publication in a newspaper of general circulation,
notification of adjoining property owners and the filing of a
Notice of Completion with the Secretary of Resources of the State
of California was given, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Chula
Vista held a public hearing on the adequacy of the draft EIR on
October 24, 1984 and a Final EIR was prepared by the Planning
Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista does hereby certify that EIR 84-8 for the
Bayfrontj"E" Street Trolley Station has been prepared in compli-
ance with the California Environmental Quality Act of 1970, the
environmental review procedures of the City of Chula Vista and
that the City Council will consider the information in said EIR in
rendering a decision in the project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council that when the
conditional use permit for this project comes before the City
Council, they will have reviewed and considered the information in
this EIR.
