RESOLUTION NO. 11857
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA AND RALPH ANDERSEN AND ASSOCIATES FOR RECRUITMENT
SERVICES (DEPUTY PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR)
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Chula Vista that that certain agreement between THE CITY
OF CHULA VISTA, a municipal corporation, and RALPH ANDERSEN AND
ASSOCIATES for recruitment services (Deputy Public Works Director)
dated the 4th day of December , 1984, a copy of which is
attached hereto and incorporated herein, the same as though fully
set forth herein be, and the same is hereby approved.

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
Ralph Andersen & Associates agrees to provide the following services
to the City of Chula Vista in conjunction with the recruitment of a
Deputy Director of Public Works:
1. Meet with the City Manager and Director of Pub1 ic Works to
review the position of Deputy Director of Public Works to
develop recruitment criteria related to desirable work ex-
perience and personal characteristics
2. Prepare and place ads in appropriate publications
3. Coordinate all recruitment activities by identifying out-
standi ng potential candi dates, prepari ng and sendi ng 1 etters
of invitation to apply, and making follow-up contact with the
outstanding potential candidates to discuss the position
4. Review and preliminarily screen all applications for the
position
5. Submit all resumes received to the City for conduct of a
selection process.
For the services rendered pursuant to this agreement, the City of
Chu1a Vista agrees to compensate Ralph Andersen & Associates the
fixed amount of $4,500 for professional services. It is understood

that the only charges for which the City assumes responsibility, in
addition to the fixed fee for professional services, are reimburse-
ment for out-of-pocket expenses incurred by Ralph Andersen & Asso-
ciates for items such as travel, clerical, long-distance telephone,
copying and postage charges, and placement of advertisements. Pay-
ment is due monthly upon receipt of a statement from Ralph Andersen
& Associates.
This agreement shall commence on December 4, 1984, and shall continue
until the position of Deputy Director of Public Works is filled.
