RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES
OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO PURCHASE SEVEN POLICE
SPECIAL VEHICLES
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, Council Resolution No. 6132 authorizes the City
to participate in a cooperative bid with the State of California
for the purchase, and
WHEREAS, said procedure requires the adoption of a
resolution designating the State as the City's agent in making the
purchase, and
WHEREAS, under the 1983-84 State bid, one agency is
unable to purchase seven 1985 Ford Crown Victoria "s" Model
Sedans it had requested, and it is recommended that the City
purchase the vehicles at a cost per vehicle of $10,259.12 plus
sales tax and 1.2% State service charge, and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney of the City of Chula Vista
has executed a certificate, attached hereto and incorporated
herein by reference as if set forth in full, in accordance with
Section 1895.2 of the California Administrative Code, advising
that the requested purchase by the State Department of General
Services does not conflict with the provisions of the City
Charter.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista does hereby authorize the Office of
Procurement, Department of General Services of the State of
California to purchase seven Police Special vehicles for and on
behalf of the City of Chula Vista pursuant to Section 14814 of the
Government Code and that James V. Espinosa, Purchasing Agent, is
hereby authorized and directed to sign and deliver all necessary
requests and other documents in connection therewith for and on
behalf of the City of Chula Vista.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $73,484.44 be,
and the same is hereby authorized to be expended for the purchase
of the seven Police Special Vehicles.
