Home My WebLink AboutReso 1984-11824 RESOLUTION NO. 11824 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA INITIATING THE "BONITA ROAD/PLAZA BONITA ROAD REORGANIZATION" INVOLVING ANNEXATION OF APPROXIMATELY 3.5 ACRES OF VACANT UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, AND CONCURRENT DETACHMENTS FROM THE BONITA-SUNNYSIDE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT AND THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT-ZONE 3 PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE DISTRICT REORGANIZATION ACT The Ci ty Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the City of Chula Vista desires to initiate a reorganization of certain territory in the unincorporated area of the County of San Diego pursuant to the District Reorganization Act of the Government Code, Division 1, Chapter 2, Article 1, Section 56140, et seq., and WHEREAS, the proposed change of organization would involve the annexation of approximately 3.5 acres of vacant uninhabited territory to the City of Chula Vista and concurrent detachments from the Boni ta-Sunnyside Fire Protection District and the San Diego County Flood Control District-zone 3, and WHEREAS, the exterior boundaries of the proposed annexa- tion are shown on Exhibit A and further described on Exhibi t B, and WHEREAS, the City shall pay the annexation processing fees amounting to $685, and WHEREAS, the County of San Diego, owner of the subject territory has considered the subject territory to be surplus park land from the County's Sweetwater Regional Park and has thereby consented to the proposed city-initiated reorganization, and WHEREAS, the subject area is contiguous to the existing Ci ty boundary on its westerly side and is closed by adjoining roads from the County's Sweetwater Regional Park thereby making it more logical to be developed and served by the City of Chula Vista, and WHEREAS, an Initial Study, IS-83-21, of possible adverse impacts on the project (annexation and pre zoning) was conducted by the Environmental Review Coordinator on September 14, 1984 who concluded that there would be no significant environmental effects and recommended that the Negative Declaration be adopted. -1- NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby adopt the Negative Declara- tion, IS-83-21, for this project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby adopt the resolution of application initiating the proposed "Bonita Road/Plaza Bonita Road Reorganization" and requests that proceedings be taken for the proposed reorganization.
