Home My WebLink AboutReso 1984-11818 - . 2230, Revised 10/25/84 RESOLUTION NO. 11818 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA SPECIFYING THE FUTURE IMPROVEMENT REQUIREMENT OF TELEGRAPH CANYON ROAD The City Council of the City of Chula vista does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the developer of Charter Point is required to construct a temporary four lane improvement to Telegraph Canyon Road from the development westerly to the fully improved portion of Telegraph Canyon Road, and WHEREAS, the City anticipates that properties along the north side of Telegraph Canyon Road between Charter Point and the fully improved portion of Telegraph Canyon Road will be seeking City approval for their proposals, and WHEREAS, the City of Chula vista desires to have an orderly, efficient and safe improvement of Telegraph Canyon Road, and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has discussed with the developers of EastLake, the Gersten Companies and Pacific Scene regarding the improvement of Telegraph Canyon Road, and WHEREAS, the developers have concurred with the City Attorney that each developer should construct four lane street improvements in front of their development, which shall include a ten foot parkway on the north with sidewalk and other improve- ments; thirty-two feet of pavement on the north side of the median island; sixteen foot wide raised landscape median island and thirty feet of pavement south of the median island with a five foot parkway, and WHEREAS, it is generally understood that as the properties along the north side of the road develop, they will install the same cross section of Telegraph Canyon Road adjacent to their property, and WHEREAS, should any portion of the north side of Telegraph Canyon Road not be developed prior to the development of EastLake, EastLake will install the same street cross section and that a reimbursement district may be created to equitably distribute the costs of such an improvement, and WHEREAS, the ultimate improvement of Telegraph Canyon Road will be a six lane facility with a sixteen foot median and one hundred twenty feet of right of way, and -1- - . 2231 WHEREAS, the six lane facility, as well as the four lane temporary facility, will include bike lanes/emergency parking. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, by this resolution establishes its intent to implement the above conditions in a manner which will efficiently provide for the ultimate improvement of Telegraph Canyon Road. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer is directed to implement said intent through appropriate conditions imposed upon developments pursuant to the subdivision map process.
