RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY ENGINEER TO EXECUTE THE CHANGE ORDER FOR
COLORADO AVENUE STORM DRAIN
The City Council of the City of Chula vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council, by Resolution No. 11754 on
September 4, 1984, awarded the contract for the construction of
Colorado Avenue storm drain from Oxford Street to Moss Street to
KIP Incorporated, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of Change Order No. 1 is to change
the design to accommodate the Army Corps of Engineers' project by
eliminating the retaining wall, rip rap and modified headwall and
'instead extend our storm drain as well as the County's with 60"
reinforced concrete pipe 113 feet to join the Corps proposed box
culvert, at a cost of $20,102.50, and
WHEREAS, the contractor has requested a change in the
design of the cleanout structures in order to accommodate the
construction of the cast-in-place pipe, which will reduce the
current contract by $1,500.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve Change Order No. 1 in
the amount of $18,602.50 for the Colorado Avenue storm drain
contract and authorizes the City Engineer to execute said change
order.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of $20,102.50 is
hereby authorized to be expended from the Telegraph Canyon Flood
Control Project RC-08.
