RESOLUTION NO. 11796
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING AGREEMENT BE'IWEEN THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA AND GARRY WILLIAMS FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
FOR FY 1984-85, AS OPEN SPACE COORDINATOR
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
Ci ty of Chula Vista that that certain agreanent between THE CITY
OF CHULA VISTA, a municipal corporation, and GARRY WILLIAMS for
professional services for FY 19-84-85 as Open Space Coordin~tor
dated the 23rd day of October, 1984, a copy of Which is
attached hereto and incorporated herein, the same as though fully
set forth herein be, and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of
Chu1a Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to
execute said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Chu1a
Vista.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AND
GARRY WILLIAMS, OPEN SPACE COORDINATOR
FOR FISCAL YEAR 1984-85
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 23rd day of
October, 1984, by and between the CITY OF CHULA VISTA, a municipal
corporation, hereinafter called "City", and GARRY WILLIAMS,
hereinafter called "Contractor"¡

WHEREAS, the City and Garry Williams have previously
entered into an agreement for professional services, and
WHEREAS, under said agreement, Contractor acts as an inde-
pendent contractor to coordinate the activities of the City's open
space district contractors, financed through the ten special
assessment districts and administered by the City, and
WHEREAS, the City desires that that Contractor continue
such service and Contractor is willing and able to provide such
expertise.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY AGREED BY AND BE'IWEEN THE
PARTIES AS FOLLOWS:
1. Term:
The City agrees to retain said Contractor to and until
June 30, 1985.
2. Payment to Contractor:

4. Powers and Duties:
Contractor agrees to and shall have the power to:
A. oversee, inspect and administer grounds maintenance
contracts;
B. receive, investigate and resolve or evaluate
service complaints and requests;
C. keep records, prepare purchase requisitions and
reports;
D. enforce contract specifications;
E. research the usefulness and cost effectiveness of
new and alternative contract methods and
specifications;
F. make recommendations to minimize maintenance costs
through landscape design changes;
G. assist in budget preparations and planning;
H. advise contractors on horticultural subject such as
pest disease, irrigation, turf and plant material
management;
I. rate the performance of contractors;
J. read plans and specifications; keep existing plans
and specifications updated;
K. attend evening and/or weekend homeowners associa-
tion meetings;
L. assist ;;ith minor repairs and make emergency
repairs and may be required to supervise and plan
the activities of assigned employees; and,
M. maintain effective working relationships with the
public, other City departments and employees and
contractors.
5. Termination:
This amended agreement may be terminated by either the
Contractor or the Parks and Recreation Director upon provision of
thirty (30) days written notice.
