RESOLUTION NO. 11885
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA
VISTA APPROVING CITY'S INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN
RECREATION FEATURES INCLUDED IN THE U. S. ARMY CORPS
OF ENGINEERS GENERAL DESIGN MEMORANDUM FOR THE
SWEETWATER RIVER FLOOD CONTROL CHANNEL PROJECT AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A LETTER OF INTENT
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, on May IS, 1984, the City Council by Resolution
No. 11621 approved a cooperative agreement with the County of San
Diego for the design and construction of the Sweetwater River
Flood Control Channel, and
WHEREAS, the Sweetwater River Flood Control Channel will
be constructed in conjunction with the State Highway 54 Project
and involves the cooperation of the City of National City, U. S.
Army Corps of Engineers, San Diego Unified Port District, the
County of San Diego and the City of Chula Vista, and
WHEREAS, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers has requested
that a resolution and a letter of intent to participate in the
development of the recreation features included in the project be
adopted by the local agencies as soon as possible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista does hereby declare its intent to
participate in recreation features included in the U. S. Army
Corps of Engineers General Design Memorandum for the Sweetwater
River Flood Control Channel Project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of
Chula Vista be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to sign a
letter of intent of such participation to the Corps of Engineers.
