RESOLUTION NO.11786
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE PLAN
DIAGRAM OF THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE CHULA
VISTA GENERAL PLAN FOR THE REDESIGNATION OF
APPROXIMATELY 10 ACRES OF LAND ABUTTING THE
EASTERLY LINE OF GREG ROGERS PARK
The City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby
resolve as follows:
WHEREAS, the sUbject 10 acre site was, prior to 1982,
regarded as a potential addition to the Greg Rogers Park, and has
been depicted as such on the plan diagram of the Land Use Element
of Chula Vista General Plan since 1970, and
WHEREAS, in 1982, the City of Chula Vista considered the
acquisition of the site for park purposes, but did not avail
itself of the opportunity to purchase the land, and
WHEREAS, the proposed amendment to the Chula Vista
General Plan would resolve any dispute regarding land use
designation in conjunction with the residential development of
said property, and
WHEREAS, the development of the site consistent with the
"Medium Density Residential" designation would foster the produc-
tion of affordable housing in accordance with the Chula Vista
Housing Element of 1981, and
WHEREAS, the Chula Vista Planning Commission recommended
that the City Council approve GPA 84-4 during its pUblic hearing
of August 22, 1984, and
WHEREAS, the Chula Vista City Council has certified that
EIR-84-6 was prepared in compliance with the requirements of CEQA
and that this proposal is consistent with the findings contained
therein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Chula Vista concurs with the recommendation of the
City Planning Commission and approves the redesignation from Parks
and Public Open Space to Medium Density Residential on the plan
diagram of the Land Use Element of Chula Vista General Plan as
specified in GPA-84-4.
