ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA AMENDING CHULA VISTA MUNICIPAL
CODE SECTION 2.02.030 RELATING TO THE CONFLICT OF
INTEREST CODE OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA
The City Council of the City ofChula Vista does ordain as follows:
SECTION I: Section 2.02.030 of the Chula Vista Municipal Code relating to the City's conflict
of interest code is hereby amended to read as follows.
2.02.030.
Conflict of interest code of the City of Chula Vista.
A. The Political Reform Act, Government Code Sections 81000, et. seq., requires
local government agencies to adopt and promulgate conflict of interest codes. The Fair Political
Practices Commission has adopted a regulation, Title 2 of the California Code of Regulations,
Section 18730, which contains the terms of a standard model conflict of interest code, which is
incorporated by reference, and which may be amended by the Fair Political Practices
Commission to conform to amendments in the Political Reform Act after public notice and
hearings. Therefore, the terms of Title 2 of the California Code of Regulations, Section 18730,
and any amendments to it, except Section 9.5, duly adopted by the Fair Political Practices
Commission, are hereby incorporated by reference and constitute the conflict of interest code of
the City of Chula Vista.
B. The City Council shall set forth by resolution the officials and designated
employees who are required to file statements of economic interests and the disclosure categories
under which each such official and designated employee shall file. Said resolution and any
amendment to it are incorporated by reference to the conflict of interest code. Said disclosure
categories are:
I. All investments, sources of income and business positions;
2. Interests in real property;
3. Investments, business positions, interests in real property, and sources of income
subject to the regulatory, permit or licensing authority of the department;
4. Investments and business positions in business entities and sources of income that
engage in land development, construction or the acquisition or sale of real
property;
5. Investments and business positions in business entities and sources of income
that, within the past two years, have contracted with the City of Chula Vista or
redevelopment agency to provide services, supplies, materials, machinery or
equipment;
6. Investments and business positions in business entities and sources of income
that, within the past two years, have contracted with the designated employee's
department to provide services, supplies, materials, machinery or equipment.

SECTION II: This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect 30 days after its
second reading and adoption.
