HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2004-322 RESOLUTION NO. 2004-322 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING CHAPTERS II (RECORDS, DOCUMENTS, RESEARCH AND PROCESSING FEES), IV (BUSINESS FEES), XI (ENGINEERING), AND XII (ENGINEERING - SEWER) OF THE CITY'S MASTER FEE SCHEDULE WHEREAS, the Engineering Division and the Public Works Operations Department of the City of Chula Vista have not updated their elements of the Master Fee Schedule since 1993; and WHEREAS, after of a comprehensive review of all fees relating to engineering and public works services, staff has recommended proposed fee changes to ensure that the costs of providing engineering and public work services are paid by those who benefit from such services; and WHEREAS, the proposed fee schedule has been developed based on current operations, development volume and service provision costs, and spreads these costs equitably to those receiving these City services; and WHEREAS, the fees reflected in the proposed fee schedule are based upon the estimated reasonable costs of providing engineering and public work services; and WHEREAS, the proposed fee schedule shall not become effective until 60 days after adoption by the City Council. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the City Council of the City of Chula Vista does hereby approve the proposed changes to the Master Fee Schedule as detailed in Attachments E through H. The owner or person making application for a permit to develop or modifY use of any residential, commercial, industrial or other property which is projected by the City Engineer to increase the volume of flow in the City sewer system by at least on-half of one equivalent dwelling unit of flow shall pay a Sewerage Capacity Charge. The base charge is hereby established as $3,000 per equivalent dwelling unit of flow. [Ordinance 29QO-B, effective 4/15103J b. One equivalent dwelling unit of flow is defined lo be 265 gallons per day of sewage generation. For purposes of conversion, one equivalent dwelling unit of flow shall also be equal to 19 equivalent fixture units (EFUs).
