INTRODUCTORY REMARKS: Read into the record by Chair Hall
1. PUBLIC HEARING: Close of public review period for the Otay Ranch Freeway Commercial
Environmental Impact Report (EIR 02-04), Planning Area 12.
Background: Steve Power, Environmental Projects Manager stated that the purpose for the
hearing is to take any further public comments and subsequently close the 45-day public review
period for the Otay Ranch Freeway Commercial Environmental Impact report (EIR 02-04). He
further stated that the Planning Commission is due to review the project itself, as well as the EIR
on February 19, 2003.
MSC (Cortes/O'Neill) (5-0-1) that the Planning Commission close the public review period for
the Otay Ranch Freeway Commercial Environmental Impact Report (EIR 02-04), Planning Area
12. Motion carried.
2. PUBLIC HEARING: PCC 03-15; Conditional Use Permit to install, operate and maintain a
wireless telecommunications facility consisting of a 55 foot high
monopine supporting twelve panel antennas, and an associated
equipment area at Smart Self Storage, 816 Miller Drive. Applicant:
Nextel.
Staff recommends that this public hearing be continued to January 22, 2003.
MSC (Cortes/Hom) (5-0-1-0) that the Planning Commission continue this public hearing to
January 22, 2003. Motion carried.
