RESOLUTION OFFERED BY AGENCYMEMBER MCCANDLISS, the reading of the text was
waived, and approved unanimously.
Malcolm stated the report was not as clear as it might have been as to why we
are buying thi s parti cul ar bui 1 di n9. Since the City is a major user of the
bui 1 di ng presently, and we have Southbay Community Servi ces that needs to
relocate; the City of Chula Vista will be using over half of the building.
Not only that, we have approved the expansion of city hall; and as we renovate
city hall, we will be needing additional office space for employees to
relocate. Having a building directly across the street from city hall will be
a valuable asset during this time.
Mayor Cox stated the actual dollar amount being appropriated is $1,722,000.
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS - there were none.
5. DIRECTOR'S REPORT - there were none.
