Complaint received that vehicle is a nuisance and logged-in as a complaint. (CVMC 10,80,01 ° - Define Nuisance) (Day 1) II, Visit site (determine if violation exists), Post 72-hour "Notice to Remove" on vehicle, or hand to occupant. Leave a civic reminder notice that explains the City's program, (CVMC 10,80,050 - Entry) (Day 4) III. Revisit sit.e after 72 hours, If vehicle is not removed, begin Notice and Order process, (CVMC 10,80.060) (Day 5) IV, Code Enforcement Officer determines who is the property owner, (CVMC 10,80.060) A. Police Department staff runs DMV check to identify the vehicle owner(s). 8, Mail 10-Day Notice to registered owner of vehicle, legal owner of vehicle, property owner and the renter if appropriate, (Day 20) V, Reinspect site 15 days following mailing of 10-Day Notice. If vehicle is still in violation, an additional letter identified as a second 'Notice to Remove" will be forwarded to all parties by registered mail. (California Vehicle Code 22669) Then reinspect site 10 days after receipt of reQistered mail. Determine if a letter requesting an appeal has been received, If so, process through (a) Director of Building and Housing, (2) Board of Appeals and Advisors, (3) Planning Commission and (4) City Council (proceed as necessary). (CVMC 10,80,080) VII. Obtain signed consent form from owner to remove vehicle or obtain warrant to seize vehicle. Warrants will not be requested without prior authorization from the Director or Assistant Director of Building and Housing, VIII. Notify Community Service Officer to remove vehicle and dispose, (CVC 22669 - Private Property) (CVC 22658 - Private Parking Lot) (CVC 22851 - Scrap) (CVC 22852 - Storage) IX, Code Enforcement Officer takes photo of vehicle when it is attached to the tow truck upon removal.
