HomeMy WebLinkAboutrda min 1983/11/22 MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA Tuesday, November 22, 1983 Council Chamber 10.17 p.m. Public Services Building ROLL CALL MEMBERS PRESENT Ch airman Cox; Members Moore, McCandliss, Scott, Malcolm MEMBERS ABSENT None STAFF PRESENT Executive Director Goss, Community Development Director Desrochers BAYFRONT ITEM NO.1 RESOLUTION NO. 460 ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL/AGREEMENT OF MacFARLANE AND ASSOCIATES INC., FOR NEGOTIATION SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF CERTAIN PROPOSED BAYFRONT ACQUISITIONS, AUTHORIZING CHAIRMAN TO EXECUTE SAME, AND APPROPRIATI NG FUNDS THEREFOR Proposals were solicited from the real estate community for negotiation services in support of the potential acquisitions of the Street-Merziotis property at the north edge of "E" Street between 1-5 and Bay Boulevard and the Cappos property at the foot of "F" Street. MacFarlane and Associates, Inc., and Security Land and Right-of-Way Services, Inc., submitted proposals for negotiation services. Community Deve lopment Director Desrochers stated Special Counsel and staff recommend the firm of MacFar 1 ane and Assoc iates, Inc., be approved to act as the Agency's negotiator in the event of property acquisition. RESOLUTION OFFERED BY CHAIRMAN COX, the reading of the text was waived by unanimous consent, passed and adopted unanimously. MEMBER'S COMMENTS a. Community Development Director Desrochers, in response to Executive Director Goss' , query, indicated only one Agency meeting will be held next month on December 15,1983. b. Member Malcolm wished the Agency a Happy Thanksgiving. Adjourned Regular Redevelopment Agency Meeting - 2 - November 22, 1983 c. Chairman Cox stated he recently met with the Director of the Fish and Game Department and felt the meetings with Assemblywoman Susan Golding and others on the bayfront issue were very fruitful. A better understanding of this City's concerns were established. Mayor Cox noted resolutions of support have been submitted from the Cities of La Mesa, National City, Coronado and Imperial Beach with three other cities considering approva 1 of resolutions. The Unified Port District as well as MTDB have been supportive as well.
