HomeMy WebLinkAboutrda min 1982/07/27 t')\I~ MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE REOEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA Tuesday, July 27, 1982 Council Chambers 11 :10 p.m. Public Services Building ROLL CALL MEMBERS PRESENT Chairman Cox; Members Malcolm, Moore, McCand1iss MEMBERS ABSENT Member Scott STAFF PRESENT Executive Director Cole, Community Development Director Des rochers, Agency Attorney Lindberg, Development Services Administrator Robens, Assistant City Manager Asmus ALSO PRESENT Jay Holland, Jeff Howard, Steve Hauser ITEM NO.1 - RESOLUTION NO 379 - RECERTIFYING EIR-79-5 AND APPROVING DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE TOWN CENTRE FOCUS AREA PARKING STRUCTURE Referring to his written report, Community Development Director Desrochers explained that the Project Area Committee and the Design Review Committee have both approved the design for the parking structure. The construction of this facility should start in October dependi ng on whether or not Mr. Richard Zogob, the deve 1 oper, will get his financin9. Mr. Desrochers introduced Mr. Jay Holland, Project Architect for Hugh Brooks Associates, Inc. and Mr. Jeff Howard, Landscape Archi teet for Reynolds Envi ronmenta 1 Group, and Steve Hauser, Project Coordinator. Mr. Holland submitted slides showing the different elevations of the proposed parking structure whi ch wi 11 serve the adj acent retai 1 area, restaurant and United Artists Theatre. The structure is a 120,000 square foot pre-cast concrete facility with 725 stalls, 15% of which will be for compacts. There will be a pedestrian bridge to the retail area as well as an elevator in the structure. Mr. Jeff Howard also submitted slides showing the different phases of landscaping which will be incorporated in the structure - interior and exterior features. RESOLUTION OFFERED BY CHAIRMAN COX, the readi ng of the text was wai ved by unanimous consent, passed and approved unanimously.
