RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA APPROVING REDACTION SOFTWARE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND VERITONE, INC.
WHEREAS, on December 5, 2025, the City issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) P25-
2026, seeking competitive proposals from experienced and qualified individuals or firms to
provide a comprehensive redaction software solution to support the City Clerk’s Office, City
Attorney’s Office, and Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the City received ten (10) responses to solicitation RFP P25-2026 (the
“Proposals”); and
WHEREAS, the selection committee evaluated the Proposals and recommends executing
an agreement with Veritone, Inc. (the “Agreement”) to provide a redaction software solution; and
WHEREAS, the Agreement has an initial term beginning September 1, 2026 and continuing
through June 30, 2028, with four (4) additional one (1) year options to extend the Agreement, which,
if all options are exercised, may extend the Agreement through June 30, 2032; and
WHEREAS, the cost of one concurrent license is $16,000 per year; and
WHEREAS, during the 22-month initial term of the Agreement, Veritone, Inc. shall be
compensated in the amount of $146,667 for five concurrent licenses; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to use five concurrent licenses, resulting in an annual cost of
$80,000 for each extension; and
WHEREAS, the City has the option to increase or decrease the number of licenses based
upon operational needs; and
WHEREAS, if all option terms are exercised, the total compensation payable under the
Agreement shall not exceed $466,667 over the full potential term of the Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista,
that it approves the redaction software Agreement, between the City and Veritone, Inc., in the form
presented, with such minor modifications as may be required or approved by the City Attorney, a
copy of which shall be kept on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and authorizes and directs the
City Manager to execute same.
