RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA APPROVING A LEASE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY AND SOUTHERN REGIONAL
RESOURCE CENTER, INC. FOR A PORTION OF THE CITY-
OWNED BUILDING LOCATED AT 270 F STREET
WHEREAS, the City owns the Norman Park Senior Center at 270 F Street (the “Project”); and
WHEREAS, Southern Regional Resource Center, Inc., dba Southern Caregivers Resource
Center (“SCRC”), desires to lease that certain portion of the Project, consisting of approximately
842 square feet of space (“SCRC Premises”) to provide services for residents caring for an adult
with chronic and disabling conditions; and
WHEREAS, the activities to be conducted on the property will provide a direct benefit to
the community, including but not limited to provided free caregiver support services for families
caring for seniors and adults living with Alzheimer’s disease and adults with chronic and disabling
conditions or diseases, thereby this public benefit justifies the terms of the lease and are consistent
with the City’s policies for the use of public property; and
WHEREAS, the City and SCRC desire to enter into a one-year lease agreement with four,
one-year renewal options for the SCRC Premises.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista,
that it approves the lease agreement between the City and Southern Regional Resource Center,
Inc, in the form presented, with such minor modifications as may be required or approved by the
City Attorney, a copy of which shall be kept on file in the Office of the City Clerk, and authorizes
and directs the City Manager to execute the lease agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, that it
authorizes the City Manager to execute amendments and extension options to the lease agreement,
as deemed necessary in the form approved by the City Attorney.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, that it finds
that the lease of the premises located at 270 F Street to SCRC will provide substantial public
benefit to the residents of the City by providing caregiver support services for residents caring for
adults with chronic and disabling conditions.
