Each person will be allotted three minutes to address the Commission, unless otherwise adjusted by the presiding officer. State law generally prohibits the Commission from discussing or taking action on any issue not included on the agenda. STAFF COMMENTS Director Carson notified commission that the official proclamation designating July 2026 as Parks and Recreation Month will be presented at the City Council meeting on July 14, 2026. Director Carson confirmed that the department's July activity calendars have been finalized. Director Carson informed commission that a department intern is conducting a comprehensive photo inventory to document Page 5 of 7 City of Chula Vista Parks and Recreation Commission July 16, 2026 2026-05-21 Parks and Recreation Commission Regular Meeting Minutes Page 3 all park signs and amenities for tracking and maintenance purposes. Director Carson highlighted the current Capital Improvement Project (CIP) of budget noting that funds were allocated for the installation of three new sports field lighting and an upgrade to one sports field lighting. 7. CHAIR COMMENTS Commissioner Enriquez informed commission that Measure P Citizen Over sight Committee recently approved recommendation of increasing the budget to improve the public works building roof, remodel of the Ken Lee building, remodel of Lauderbach building, IT Upgrades, and fields. 8. COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS Commissioner Rodriguez requested for a status update and information regarding several ongoing facility and park projects including the Ken Lee building, Lauderbach building, Eucalyptus Park, Harborside Park, and Hilltop Park. Commissioner Rodriguez also expressed concern regarding the high volume of simultaneous open projects, noting that concurrent construction leaves multiple parks partially closed to the public. She recommended that the department focus on completing current projects to minimize community disruption. 9.
