HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-10-16 BOLT MinutesCity of Chula Vista Regular Board of Library Trustees Meeting MINUTES October 15, 2025, 4:00 p.m. Civic Center Branch Library Conference Room 365 F St, Chula Vista Present: Trustee Ellison, Trustee Larson, Vice Chair Holleron, Chair Beyers Absent: Trustee Glinksy and Moffat Also Present: Director of Library Services Whatley, Principal Librarians Magbanua and Ysla, Deputy City Attorney Gilmore Minutes are prepared and ordered to correspond to the agenda. 1. CALL TO ORDER A regular meeting of the Board of Library Trustees of the City of Chula Vista was called to order at 4:02 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Secretary Magbanua called the roll. 3. CONSENT CALENDAR (Items 3.1 through 3.2) Trustees approved the recommended actions on the below consent calendar items. Moved by Trustee Holleron Seconded by Trustee Ellison The motion was carried by the following vote: 1 Yes (4): Trustee Ellison, Trustee Larson, Vice Chair Holleron, Chair Beyers Result: Carried (4 to 0) 3.1 Approval of Meeting Minutes Approve the minutes dated: September 17, 2025 3.2 Written Communications Consider Request for Excused Absence for Trustee Larson and Vice Chair Holleron from the September 17, 2025, Board of Library Trustees meeting. 4. PUBLIC COMMENTS There were no public comments. 5. PRESENTATIONS 5.1 Presentation by Library Director Whatley on the Library Collection Budget Trustees heard the presentation. 6. ACTION ITEMS 6.1 Discuss the Draft Revision of the Library Collection Development Policy Resident Robert commented in opposition to the item. Trustees approved the revised Library Collection Development Policy. Moved by Vice Chair Holleron Seconded by Trustee Larson The motion was carried by the following vote: Yes (4): Trustee Ellison, Trustee Larson, Vice Chair Holleron, Chair Beyers Result: Carried (4 to 0) 7. STAFF COMMENTS Principal Librarian Ysla announced the return of the Zip Books program. Principal Librarian Magbanua announced the upcoming LinkPlus service. 8. CHAIR'S COMMENTS Chair Beyers expressed appreciation for the collection information received in the meeting. 9. TRUSTEES' COMMENTS There were no comments. 10.
