RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA APPROVING THE REVISED FISCAL YEAR
2025-26 COMPENSATION SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE
JANUARY 9, 2026, AS REQUIRED BY CALIFORNIA CODE
OF REGULATIONS, TITLE 2, SECTION 570.5
WHEREAS, California Code of Regulations, Title 2, Section 570.5 requires that, for
purposes of determining a retiring employee's pension allowance, the pay rate be limited to the
amount listed on a pay schedule that meets certain requirements, including approval by the City’s
governing body in accordance with the requirements of applicable public meeting laws; and
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Compensation Schedule ("Compensation
Schedule") was approved by the City Council at their meeting December 2, 2025; and
WHEREAS, any changes, including, but not limited to, across-the-board increases,
classification changes, and salary adjustments, approved subsequent to the date of approval, must be
reflected on a revised Compensation Schedule and submitted to the City Council for approval; and
WHEREAS, the revised Fiscal Year 2025-26 Compensation Schedule effective January 9,
2026, reflects the scheduled salary adjustments for the following employee groups, as included in
their respective memoranda of understanding or Compensation Summary for Unrepresented
Employees: International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 2180 (IAFF); Chula Vista Mid-
Managers/Professional Association (MM/PROF); Western Council of Engineers (WCE);
unrepresented Mid-Managers/Professionals; and unclassified, hourly position titles with a
represented or unrepresented counterpart receiving a salary adjustment effective January 9, 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista,
that it hereby does adopt, as required by California Code of Regulations Title 2, Section 570.5,
the revised Fiscal Year 2025-26 Compensation Schedule effective January 9, 2026, in the form
presented, a copy of which is available in the City Clerk’s Office, that reflects the scheduled
salary adjustments for the following employee groups, as included in their respective
memoranda of understanding or Compensation Summary for Unrepresented Employees:
International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 2180 (IAFF); Chula Vista Mid-
Managers/Professional Association (MM/PROF); Western Council of Engineers (WCE);
unrepresented Mid-Managers/Professionals; and unclassified, hourly position titles with a
represented or unrepresented counterpart receiving a salary adjustment effective January 9,
2026.
