HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2025-165RESOLUTION NO. 2025-165 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING THE AMENDMENTS TO THE COMPENSATION SCHEDULE AND REVISED FISCAL YEAR 2025-26 COMPENSATION SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 17, 2025, AS REQUIRED BY CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS, TITLE 2, SECTION 570.5 WHEREAS, the City and the Chula Mid-Manager/Professional Association entered into an Amendment to the 2025-2027 MOU, adjusting the salary for two classifications: Senior Information Technology Support Specialist and Building Project Manager; and WHEREAS, the City is also proposing a salary adjustment for the Building Services Manager position to address pay compaction; and WHEREAS, a salary adjustment is recommended for the Chief Communications Officer position to ensure continued competitiveness in their respective labor market; and WHEREAS, the proposed E-Step (maximum) salaries are shown below: Position Title Employee Group E Step (Maximum) Salary Building Project Manager MM/PROF $5,281.08 bi-weekly Building Services Manager MM/PROF $6,073.24 bi-weekly Chief Communications Officer Senior Management $6,815.69 bi-weekly Senior Information Technology Support Specialist MM/PROF $4,477.70 bi-weekly WHEREAS, California Code of Regulations, Title 2, Section 570.5 requires that, for purposes of determining a retiring employee's pension allowance, the pay rate be limited to the amount listed on a pay schedule that meets certain requirements, including approval by the City’s governing body in accordance with the requirements of applicable public meeting laws; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Compensation Schedule (“Compensation Schedule”) was approved by the City Council at their meeting on September 9, 2025; and WHEREAS, any changes, including, but not limited to, across-the-board increases, classification changes, and salary adjustments, approved subsequent to the date of approval, must be reflected on a revised Compensation Schedule and submitted to the City Council for approval; and WHEREAS, the revised Fiscal Year 2025-26 Compensation Schedule, effective October 17, 2025, reflects the salary adjustments for the Building Project Manager, Building Services Manager, Chief Communications Officer, and Senior Information Technology Support Specialist position titles. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, that it hereby does adopt, as required by California Code of Regulations Title 2, Section 570.5, the revised Fiscal Year 2025-26 Compensation Schedule effective October 17, 2025, in the form presented, a copy of which is available in the City Clerk’s Office, that reflects the salary adjustments for the Building Project Manager, Building Services Manager, Chief Communications Officer, and Senior Information Technology Support Specialist position titles.
