Veterans Advisory Commission Regular Meeting
Public Comments: Public comments may be submitted to the Veterans Advisory Commission in
the following ways:
In-Person comments during the meeting. Join us for the Veterans Advisory Commission
meeting at the time and location specified on this agenda to make your comments. Each
person will be allotted three (3) minutes to address the Commission.

then click on "Leave Comment."

The commenting period will close at noon on the day of the meeting. All comments will be made
available to the Commission and the public.

Recommended Action:
Commission to support and appeal for the library to include a section for
the Veterans.

- Subcommittee composed of commissioners Williams, Stewart and
Jimenez.
- City Council to announce VOTY recipient on November 12th.
- Color guard to be present at the City Council meeting and requested by
commissioner Jimenez.
- Commissioner Stewart proposed to have a VOTY float during the
Starlight Parade.
OTHER BUSINESS
6. STAFF COMMENTS
- Secretary announced that she has sent VOTY and Military Reintegration
Program presentation to City Council to include on the November 12th meeting.
- Secretary announced rescheduling of November meeting, having a special
meeting on November 21st.
- Commissioners to receive email later in the month to get quorum.
7. CHAIR'S COMMENTS
- Commissioner Stewart highlighted the importance of the subcommittees to work
on what each of them was created for.
- He went over the presentation he will be presenting to City Council on
November 12th.
8. COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS
- Commissioner Nava asked about the importance of attending City Council
meetings.
- Commissioner Jimenez pointed out the Navy and Marine Corps anniversary
coming up next year.
9. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
