HomeMy WebLinkAboutcc min 1924/09/11 '='-'~W' imruTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA, HELD SEPTEMBER 11, 1924. The Board met pursuant to adjournment, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, on the above date, with President Peters in the chair. Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. Present,: Trustees Peters, Bent, Shaw, Lyons, Wentworth. F STREET BETVlEEN NATIONAL AND BAY BOULEVARD: Complaint having been made by w' H, Parkey, of the poor condition of F Street, between National and Bay Boulevard, it was decided to make reparis at that point in the near future, but before any- thing can be done, the water mains there, will have to be repaired or replaced. the clerk was directed to write the Water Company requesting the work on the mains be accomplished at earliest date possible, in order that the street may be completed before the rains set in. .~ TREES ~roVED FROM STREET: Authority to ra~ove some eucalyptus trees fronting W' H. Parkey's property, on F Street, between National and Bay Boulevard, was granted upon motion by Mr. Lyons, seconded by Mr. Wentworth, which carried. AUTO~~BILE FOR SCHOOL A!ID CO~¡ITY NURSE: The Board of Trustees of the Chula Vista Gra~ar School having agreed to pay one-half the cost and mainten- ance of a new automobile for use of the community and school nurse, the clerk was directed to advertise for the purchase of one, to be in accordance wi th specifications on file in his office. The city attorney to prepare a contract between the city and the school, covering the terms of payments for the new automobile. This action covered by motion by Shaw, seconded by Mr. Lyons, which carried, LIBRARY REPORT: The annual report of the city library, for the year ending June 30,1924, was read, and upon motion by Mr. Shaw, seconded by 1æ. Lyons, it was accepted and ordered filed. PLANIHNG C011MISSION. ZONING:",Verbal report of the Planning Commission on zoning the city was delivered by the clerk, in which the commission recommends that the city employ a professional zoner to work with the commission. Upon motion motion by Mr. Wentworth, seconded by Mr. Shaw, which carried, the Planning Commission is authorized to employ an expert zoner for a few days, in order to start the work, or outline it. ORDINANCE NO. 113: Upon motion by Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Wentowrth, Ordinance No. 113, was placed on its second and final reading. This is an or- dinance providing for streets in subdivisions. The ordinance was read, and upon motion by ¡':r. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Lyons, it was passed, adopted and approved, as read, by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Trustees Shaw, Lyons, Wentworth, Peters. NOES: Trustee Bent. ABSENT: None. (- 'n;)),: vi' SI:G AV::;;;'L'E: The city attorney reported that he had consulted with the District Attorney and the County Engineer with reference to the actual width of Sixth Avenue, in this city, and from all maps and records, he had found that the avenue is 80 feet in width, all of which is owned by the city. The District Attorney and County Engineer concurred in this findin~ DISCONTINUANCE OF STREET CAR LItŒ: On the question of the S.D.Electric Street Railway Company having applied for permission to discontinue its street cars from 24th Street 'in National City to Chula Vista, the hearing on which is to be held Sept~~ber 12,1924, it was decided that the city attorney is authorized to employ an attorney, Judge Sloan, or other, if he is not available, to assist in presenting a protest against the discontinuance. Motion covering by Mr. Lyons, seconded by Mr. Wentworth, which carried by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Truste61J Lyons, Wentworth, Bent, Peters, Shaw. NOES: Irone. ABSENT: None.
