The Board met in regular union in the Oounoil Chamber of the City Hall, with Prelldent Peters in the chair. Keeting called to order at 7100 p.m. Present I !ruatees Peterl, Shaw, Lyonl, Wentworth. Truatee Bent absent. READING OF MINUTESI The minutes of the last regular meeting of November 4, 1924, and adjourned meetings of November 5th, 17, and 28th, together with a apecia1 meet- ing of November 10th, were read, and approved .. read. _r LICBNSE OBDINJJIOE. 1Ir. He Itated that the licen.. in National City fer meat pedd1era 18 $250.00 per fear, while the Chula Vista licenae ia $30.00 per fear. He cannot afford to pay the National City license, Jet the National City peddlers can afford to pay the Chula Vista license. Held over for future consideration. WATER CONEECTION TO STU.A.RT'S ORCRABD. 3rd Avenue and GI C. H. Stuart alked the Board to have the water reccnnected at 3rd Avenue and G street, where it had been 418- connected on account of grading.for sidewalk8. Superintendent of Streeta directed to replace. INSTALLATION OF FIRE HYDRANTSI It was moved by Mr. Lyona, seconded by Mr. Shaw, that 4-inch standam tire bJdrants be installed at the 'ollowing locations I One each at 4th Avenue and H Street; 5th Avenue and E Street; I' and Garrett Streets; 2nd Avenue and I Street; 5th Avenue and I Street. The motion Carried by the following vote, to-witl AYES I Trustees Lyons, Wentowrth, Peters, Sh&w. NOESI None. ABSENT 1 Trustee Bent. HIRING OUT CITY EQUIPMENT I S. S. Nickson asked permiasion to hire part of the. city road equipnent to be used in grading for sidewalk8. Request denied. U.T.1<'.Y IN RE.lJ¡ OF roPENVILLJ.'S STORE BUILDINGI Peter Popenvi1la asked for repairs to the alley in rear of his store buildings, and that it be graded to permit the water to flow to a street instead of on his property. Decided that Street Department should run ditohel on both sides of the alloY from about the rear of Popenvi1la'l property to Center street. CITY HORSESI The street superintendent informed the board that two of the city's horses that are for aale, are too old to bring any price. He asked permission to destroy them. Request granted upon motion by Mr. Wentworth, seconded by Mr. Shaw. PERIODIC.A.L REroRTSI Jlonthly reports for November, 1924, of the City Recomer and ComlllWlity Nurse, were read, and ordered accepted and filed, upon motion by Mr. Sh&w, leconded by Mr. Lyons. STREET LIGHTSI A petition, signed by 30 property owners in the neighborhood of H Street and 1st Avenue, asking for a street light at that intersection, was read. The clerk instructed to ascertain cost, tf a~, of this installation, and report. '1!rustee Shaw was appointed a committee of one to investigate and report on any other street lightl needed throughout the city. DEroSITA.RIES FOR CITY FUl'IDSI The city treasurer asked the boerd to designate the ofticial depositaries for city funds. Upon motion by Mr. Shaw, seconded by 1Ir. Wentworth, the Peoples State Bank, of Chula Vista, aDd the Southern Trust and ColIIDerce Bank of San Diego, were designated.. the official depositaries for any city funds. Upon motion by Mr. Shaw, aeconded by Mr. Wentworth, it was decided that the deed from Hulcy Phe1pa and wife, dated November 28, 1924, fWI' the South 2* feet of the North 30 feet of Lot 26, of ì-Seotion 138, in t he City of Chula Viata, County of San Diego, State of Ca1itornia, to the City of Chul& Vilta, for Itreat purpolel, and the land described in 8ai4 deed be and the a8llle 18 hereby aocepted by the City of Chula Vista, &1 a dedication of laid land, 10 deacribed in said deed to s laid city for street purpoael. ORDItam'R No. 1161 Upon motion by 1Ir. Lyons, leconded by JIr. Wentworth, Ordinance No. 116, was placed on ita first reading. Thia 18 an ordinance creating the office of fire engineer. Upon motion by Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Wentworth, which carried, it waa decided to make a walk along the welt side of Highland Hill, the walk to extend from D Street to the bottom of the hill. The street department to do the work, and the ci tv engineer to give the grade necessary. BILLS PAID!
