!he Board met in speeial lei lion, pursuant to call of the Prelident,
in the Council Chamber of the City Rall, with Prelident Peters presiding.
Meeting called to order at 7130 p.m. Present I Trustees Peters, Shaw, Bent, !.yons,
Wentworth.

sented a decision of the State.Hailroad Oommislion, on the hearing had some
months ago, before that body, on the application of the San Diego Blectrio Company
to discontinue its street car and bus senice between this oity and National City.
!he decision was to the effect that the San Diego .leotrio Com~ is authorhed
to dilcontinue both the above-mentioned lerrioel, within 20 ~s from April 7, 1925.
!he city attorney advised the Board that it had the opportunity to ask for a re-
hearing before the Commission, if it so desired.
Mr. Fred A. Su.therland, of the Sutherland Stage Oompany propo..d to inltall
a regular bus service between this city and San Diego, provided the Board of Trultees
let the matter wi th reference to a rehearing rest, and take no action looking tOward
trying to have the street cars and busses continue in senice. He proposed to
run a bus every half hour, between 6130 a.m. and 11130 p.m., every da;V, the busses
to leave !hird and B Streets in San Diego, and Third Avenue and K Street, in Chula
nata, with a 11m1 t of 25 minutes travel between the center of Chula nata and
San Diego. The routhe of tra.el to be from !hiI'd Avenue and K Street, in Chula
Vista, via !hird Avenue to E Street; on E to Second Avenue; on Second Avenue to
Hi~&IIII. and 8th Street, in National Cit;V; 8th Street to Natiool Avenue in
National City, thenoe via the Dike, Jlational Avenue, Logan Avenue, 16th Street,
Market Street to !hird Street, to:& Street, to destiotion, in San Diego.
From San Diego, bu..s will toH.ow the same route, reversed. Mr. Sutherland Itated
that he will immediately alk the Railroad Commislion to reduce his present fares
to 20 cents per trip, one way, or he will sell books ot tickets, oontaining t..
round trip tickets, for 43.50. These books to be transferrable and good until
used. Hil fares ~here in Chula Vista will be 5 oentl. He proposed to Itart
this lerrioe, entirely independent ot his fia Juana stagel, as loon as he receives
petmission to reuce the tares to the.bove rates; or in oase the street cars dil-
continue before that time, he will start the servioe immediately upon the diloon-
tinuanoa. He stated that he oan take on or discharge passengers ~here iD
San Diego, but that he oannot take on and disoharge paslengers wholly within the
city of San Diego.
After discu88ion, Mr. Wentworth, ..conded by Mr. Shaw, made thetollowing
motionl That it be asclared to be and is the polioy and intention of the Board
of Trustees of the Oit;V of Chula Vista, to take no furhter measures, or prooeed-
ings to have the San Diego Eleotric Hailway Company oontinue its street railway,
or bus seriTce, to or tr.rougl! the City ot Ohula Vista, or for a rehearing be-
fore the Railroad Commission of its deoision, No. 14759, permitting said oompaa;y
to disoontinue said street car and bus lenice to or tb80ugb. Ohula Vista; and
that the proposition ot Mr. Fred A. Sutherland to lupply Ohula nata wi th tranl-
portatioD by regular stage senice, as outlined and agreed to by him, be aocepted
and approved by lI&id Board of Trustees. The motion carried by the following vete,
