MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR l\IEETING OF TRE BOARD OF TRUSTEES. CHUU VISTA.
CALIFORNIA. HELD MARCH 16, 1926.
The Board met pursuant to adjournment. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall.
with President Peters in the chair. Meeting called to order at 7.30 p.m. Present.
Trustees Peters. Bent. Shaw. Wentworth. Lyons.

SEWER SYSTEM. H. R. Jackson. Secretary of the Industrial Lands Committee of
the San Diego Chamber of Commerce. advised that Board that it is impracticable to
grant the city an option on a strip of land to be used to locate the sewer treatment
plant. at this time. for the reason that the land desired is already under option.
This option expires April 3.1926. However. the strip of land desired might be re-
leased from the option on ,to but he doubted that it could be accomplished.
DEEDS FOR STREETS. It appearing that the San Diego Land and Town Company. in
years past. in selling lands in the city. reserved portions of such lands sold. for
street purposes. but failed to deed such reserved portions to the city. City
Attorney Andrews reported that he had recently made a trip to Los Angeles and consulted
with the former directors of the Land Company. and had prepared a blanket deed cov-
ering all lands that had been reserved, he had been assured that the deed would be

BENCH FOR STAGE P TRONS. The Imperial Beach Stage Line asked permission to
install a bench at the east corner of Third Avenue and Center Street. to be
used by the patrons of the line. Request granted upon motion by Mr. Wentwcrth. sec-
onded by Mr. Shaw. which carried.
PROF.ILES OF STREETS. The city engineer presented profiles of the following
streets for approval: Davidson. from 3rd to 4th Avenues; L from 2nd Ave.. to
Bay Boulevard; Landis from E to Madrona. The profiles were approved upon motion by
Mr. Wentworth. seconded by Mr. Lyons. which carried by the following vote. to~it:
AYES: Trustees Wentworth. Bent. Peters. Shaw. Lyons. NOES: None. ABSENT: None.
ORDINANCE No. 138: 'fhis ordinance was placed upon its first reading. upon motion
by Mr. Shaw. seconded by Mr. Lyons. which carried. This is an ordinance providing
for the control and destruction of dcgs and other animals afflictedwith rabies.
TREE ON STREETS. REMOVAL RECOMMENDED: A letter from Nat Rogan. recommending
the removal of a palm tree from the southwØ1rt corner of F and 5th Avenue. as dangerous
to traffic. was referred to the Planning Commission.
ADVERTISING SIGNS ON STREETS: The Marshal was instructed to notify the owner
of a number of "BILL GEORGE" Signs. now posted on the streets in ,;several places. to
remove same at once; otherwise they will be removed and destcoyed.
TREES. REMOVAL FROM STREETS: The request of Greg. Rogers to remar e all the
eucalyptus trees on both sides ot E Street. from the driveway to Mr. Roger's residence
to Bay Boulevard. having been referred to the Planning Commission, at the last meeting,
was granted. and he given (me year's time to replace the trees removed. upon motion by
Mr. Lyons, seconded by Mr. Shaw. which carried by the following vote. to~it: AYES:
Trustees Lyons, Wentworth. Bent. Peters, Shaw. NOES: None. ABSENT: None.

WATER COMPANY. REPLACING STREET SURFACE AFTER REPAIRS: Complaint was made to
the Board that when the Water Company repaired its mains. in the streets, the surface
of the street is not replaced in the same condition as it was before such repairs.
Some instances were cited. vis; Graveled streets. when repairs made. the graveled
surface is placed in the excavation. leaving adobe on the surface; trenches dug in
the streets a~e let'. sometimes with a depression and others with a decided hump,
making driving over that place dangerous to vehicle springs; paved surfaces are
replaced with concrete instead of with asphalt pavement. as originally paved.
The clerk instructed to confer with the Water Company, calling attention to the
provisions of an existing ordinance which provides that streets when cut by utility
companies must be replaced in the same condition as before being cut into.
