Mu"UTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULfu'l AIEETING OF THE SOARD OF TRUSTEES, CHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA,
HELD APRIL 19, 1926,
The Board met pursuant to adjournment in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, on
the above date with President Peters in the chair, Who called the meeting to order at
7130 p.m. Present: Trustee Peters, Bent, Wentworth, Lyons. Trustee Shaw, absent.

PLA1'NING COA~ISSION. MINTWES OF MEETINGSI The minutes of meetings of the Planning
Commission of March 22, and 29, 1926, were read, and the followingaction taken:
Purchase of Trees from E. D. Reynolds, at a cost of $225.00, authorized, upon motion
by Mr. Lyons, seconded by Mr. Wentworth, which carried by the following vote, to-wit I
AYES I Trustees Lyons, Wentworth, Bent, Peters. NOES I None. ABSENT I Trustee Shaw.
Plantinll Trees I Trees to be furnished to those preparing holes, authorized upon
motion by Mr. Lyons, seconded by 1!r. Wentworth, which carried unanimously.
Removinll Dead Tree in front of Mr. Melville's property on 2nd Avenue, held over for
the present.

DECLARING RESULT OF MUNICIPAL ELECT IONI The Board then proceeded to canvass the
votes of the municipal election, held April 12,1926. The Result of the Votes Cast, as
submitted by the election board was exhibited by the clerk, and examined by the board.
Mr. Lyons then offered Resolution No, 143, which is a resolution declaring the result of
the election, and is as follows I
WHEREAS. a general lIUIlicipal election was held and conducted in the City of Chula
Vista, California, on Monday, the 12th day of April, 1926, as required by law,
J.IID Wl!DM8, it appears that notice of said election was du'ly and legally given,
and that voting precincts were properly established, that election officers were appointed
and election suPPlies furnished, and that all respects, said election was held and conducted
and the votes cast thereat received and canvasaed, and t he returns thereof, made and declared
in time, form and manner, as required by the general laws of the State, governing elections
in titiea of the sixth class,
AND WHEREAS, .the board of trustees of said city, met in the council chamber of the
board. on Monday, the 19th day of April, 1926, to canvass the returns ot said election and
install the newly elected officers, as a result of which the board finds that the number
of votes cast, the names of the persons voted for and other matters required by law, to be
as hereinafter stated, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWSI That the said regular municipal election was held and
conducted in the said city of Chula Vista, California, on Monday, the 12th day of April,
1926, in time, form and manner, as required by law;
That there was one voting precinct establbhed tor the prmpose of holding said
election, consisting of the consolidation of the regular precincts established for hold-
ing general state and county elections, as follows:
"Consolidated Precincts A," comprising state and county precincts Numbers I, 2, 3,
4,5 and 6, of Chula Vista;
That the whole number of votes cast in said city, was 748;
That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which they were voted,
the number of votes given in the consolidated precinct to each of said persons, togetner
with the whole number of botes which they received in the intire city, are as tollowa:

Meeting of April 19,1926, Continued.
ALSO, that William H. Peters was elected to the office of Trustee of said oity for
the full term of four years.
The clerk shall enter on the records of the Board, a statement of the result of
the election, as set forth in the above.
The clerk shall immediately made and deliver to each of such persons elected, a
certificate of election, signed by him and duly authenticated; he shall. also, impose
the constitutional oath of office and have th611 subscribe thereto, Whereupon they shall be
inducted into the respective offices to which they have been elected.
Passed, adopted and 'approved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Chula Vista,
California, this 19th day of April, 1926, by the tollowing vote, towit, AYES, Trustees
Lyons, Wentworth, Bent, Peters. NOES, None. ABSENT, Trustee Shaw.

The retiring members of the board, Trustees Bent and Peters, in retiring from the
board made remarks as follows,
Peters: Espressed his thanks and appreciation for the many courtesies and
tance he had received from the other members ot the board, during his four years
just closed, and hoped that the same relations would continue during the ensuing
years. That he had always felt that, as President of the board, that he had the
of the other members of the board.
Bent, Asked some questions of the members ct the board. and stated that.... Chula
Vista had~plendid Fire. Police and Street Departments, and that if there were any com-
plaints ageinst what had been done, or not done, on the streets of the city, to refer such
complainants to him.
The retiring officers then retired, and the president having vacated his chair, the
clerk took charge of the meeting. The newly elected officers were handed certificates of
election, and executed the oath of office, and,tcokc'thei;r àeats.The clerk announced that
nominations for the position of president for the enBuing term, were in order. Mr.
Wentworth, seconded by 1!r. Lyons, nominated Trustee Peters as president. There being no
other nominations, the motion carried, Mr. Peters voting No. President Peters took the
chair as such, and announced the following oommi ttees:
Finance and Accounts, Trustees Barnes, Wentworth. Lyons.
Streets and Public ProDert:v: Trustee Scott.
Water and Fire: Trustee Lyons.
Police and Public Health, Trustee Wen~vorth.

SEWER SYSTEM: The sewer system was discussed, but no defintte action could be taken,
because the option on the land for the purpose loc~ting the treatment plant is temporarily
held up. However, the President advised that he had conversed with the Secretary of the
Industrial Lands Committee of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, and had been assured that
the option would be forthcoming soon. In the meantime, the city engineer was instructed
to confer with Mr. J. C. Blaoman, of National City, with a view to obtaining another option.
SUBDIVISION, A plat of Howe's Subdivision, which is a subdivision of Lots 31 and 32,
of '~-Section l37. was presented to the board, and upon motion by ¡Jr. Lyons, seconded by
Mr. Barnes, which carried, the plat was referred to the Planning Commission.
FIRE REPORT, Printed reports of the Board of Fire Underwriters of the Pacific, on
the fi~ sitation in this city, were examined, and as several discrepancies were ~ound, the
'clerk was instructed to correct a copy of the reDort, and return tt to the Underwriters.
WATER, FROM S!1ENA1l])OAH TRACT, Water flowing from Shenandoah Tract through the orchard
of 1!r. Greg. Rogers was brought up for discussion, and the engineer was instructed to
ascertain if it is practicable to have this water drain directly to the bay, in a westerly
course, instead of its present route.
ADJOURNMENT, Upon motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. Scott, the Board adjournei
