CALL TO ORDER A regular meeting of the Cultural Arts Commission of the City of Chula Vista was called to order at 6:04 p.m. in Conference Room, located in Civic Center Library, 365 F Street, Chula Vista, California. 2. ROLL CALL Secretary Magbanua called the roll. 3. CONSENT CALENDAR (Items 3.1 through 3.2) Moved by Commissioner Kohse Seconded by Commissioner Muraoka Commission approve the recommended action on the below consent calendar items. PUBLIC COMMENTS Secretary Magbanua announced that 0 electronic comments had been received and 0 comments had been received via email. 5. ACTION ITEMS 5.1 Selection of Commissioners for the 2025 Performing and Visual Arts Grant Review Panel. Commission select Commissioner Jing, Commissioner Sablan, and Chair Bishop to be part of the 2025 Performing and Visual Arts Grant Review Panel. Moved by Commissioner Brady Seconded by Commissioner Kohse Commission select two Commissioners to participate in the 2025 PVAG Review Panel. Commission create ad hoc subcommittee for the 2025 Odawara Youth Exchange Program and select Commissioner Muraoka, Commissioner Jing, and Chair Bishop for the subcommittee. Moved by Commissioner Kohse Seconded by Vice-Chair Zavala Commission create and select three Commissioners for an ad hoc subcommittee to plan and oversee the 2025 Odawara Youth Exchange program. Yes (8): Commissioner Brady, Commissioner Kohse, Commissioner Muraoka, Commissioner Rufolo, Commissioner Ruiz, Commissioner Sablan, Vice-Chair Zavala, and Chair Bishop Result:Carried (8 to 0) 5.3 Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Recommendations to the City about Prioritizing Local Art and Artists for New Developments Commission recommend staff inquire about creating a policy where new building developments require any artwork installed be sourced from local artists. Moved by Commissioner Kohse Seconded by Commissioner Sablan Commission discuss, make recommendations, and take action as appropriate. CHAIR'S COMMENTS Chair Bishop discussed her experience with the Local Arts Agency Network project. 8. COMMISSIONERS' COMMENTS  Commissioner Brady provided updates on her attendance at the City's public input sessions, unused facilities in the city for potential arts programming, the Prebys grant, art festivals in every district, the need for low-cost performance spaces, and inquired about exhibit space for a woman in the Gaza region art show.  Commissioner Rufolo introduced herself.  Vice Chair Zavala expressed excitement for the upcoming year.  Commissioner Jing inquired about exhibit space for her Global Visioneers art show in May.  Commissioner Muraoka provided updates on the Odawara youth exchange activities.  Commissioner Kohse discussed the community meeting with CVEC. 9.
