DELAY IN COMPLETING SIXTH AVENUEI A letter from the Sweetwater Water Corporation was
read, in whioh the COlllpaDy complained that it had been given undue publioity by the Board
in the statement that the delay in oompleUng 6th Avenue, bad been due to broken water
mains. The account of the matter having appeared in the San Diego Union, the Water Com-
pany felt that it was being blamed for something, of which it was not g\1llty. 'rile clerk
was instructed to write the Water Company to the effeot that the BoaRd had no intention
of injuring the Company, but had made the above statement, meaning that a broken water
main had been one of the causes of the delay.

BUILDINGS ON PROPERTY LINESI A leUer from \'lID. E. Roe88ner, living at the corner of
Cyrpre88 Street and Blem Avenue, was read, in which he complained that a garage, belonging
to a neighbor was located aorO88 the dividing property line, and was partly on his land.
Clerk instructed to write Mr. Roessner that the city has no jurisdiction in such matters,
and that it is a question to be settled by the parties effected.
DUllPING RUBBISHI A letter from E. F. ChuB, complaining that some unknown persons
are dumping garbage aDd rubbish on his land, at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Tele-
eallYon Road, was read. Mr. Chase asked the city to remOi' e the rubbish and garbage .0
dumped. Clerk instruoted to advise Me. Chase that the city had done all it oould in the
matter, by having warning notioes posted on his land, offering a r~rd'for the apprehension
of anyone found violati.. the ordinance prohibiting such dumping.
VAOATIONSI Marshal Clyne applied for a 15-day vacation, from October 17, to 31,1925.
Granted upon motion by Mr. Lyons. seconded by Mr. Wentworth, which oarried.
Traffio Offioer Smith asked for an additional eight days as a vacation, he having
had seven days heretofore this year. 'rIlis vacation to take evvect from November 3, to 10,
1925. Granted upon motion by Mr. Shaw, aeoonded by Mr. Lyons, which carried.
ORDINANCE No. 134& Upon motion by Yr. Lyons, seconded by Yr. Wentworth, whioh oarrieed,
Ordinance was placed on its first reading. This is an ordinal ce amending Ordinance No.
Ill, providing for salaries of certain city officials.
PLANlIIIlJG OOMMISSIONI The minutes of meetings of the Planning Co!ll!li88ion, held Sept.
25th and Ootober 12, 1925, were read, and upon motion by Mr. Shaw, sedonded by Yr. Went-
worth, which carried, were ordered received and filed.
, BtBOTRIC LIGHT POLES TO BE I4ADE HIGHERI Upon the reoommendation of the Pla.nning Com-
mission, and on motion by Mr. Lyons, seconded by Mr. Wentworth, which carried, the clerk
was directed to communicate with the San Diego Gas and Electrio Company to the effect that
the Board desires that the electric light poles on F Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues.
and on 4th Avenue, north of F Street, be replaced by poles at least 40 feet in height.
This height is desired to preserve the trees on the streets at points mentioned, as the
present poles are so low that it will require toe much trimming to enable the wires to
olear the tops of the trees.
PURCHASE OF LAND ~'OR A PARK, The Planning Commission recommended that the city
purchase the lot lying across F Street, south of the school house for a park, provided the
school has no further use for it. This recommendation was made from the rumor to the effect
that the school is contemplating the purchase of five acres north of its present holding,
and will have no use for the parcel mentioned above. Referred to the city attorney for
investigat ion of the legal ¡tepa nece88ary to make the purohase.
