MINUTES OF A :REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, cHULA VISTA, CALIFORNIA,
HELD MARCH 2,1926.
The Board met in reglllar session in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, on the
above date, with President Peters in the chair. Meeting called to order at 7100 p.m.
Present I 'J!rustees Peters, Shaw, Lyons, Wentworth, Bent.
READING OF MINUTESI The minutes of the last regular meeting of Fe'þruary 2, 1926,
and of regular adjourned meetings of February 16 and 17, 1926, were read, and approved
as read.

UNSANITARY CONDITION IN MALTA SQUAREI City Health Officer Ashcroft presented a
letter which he had received, from some residents in Malta Squsre, complaining about the
unsanitary condition of the property located west of 114 First Avenue. Referred to
city attorney to serve notice on the owner of the property on which complaint wss made.
SIDEWALKS ON ALVARADQ STREET I G. R. Holloway brought up the subject of having side-
walks ordered in on A.lv-arado Street, reminding the Board of the arrangement made at a
meeting of August. 18, 1925, in which it was agreed to start proceedings March 1,1926.
The matter of making that thoroughfare 52 feet in width, where it passes through Van
Devere and Merritt Tract, which has been in the hll}s of H. S. Hall, since August, last,
was discussed. It developed that Mr. Hall had agreed to obtain deeds for one toot of
land along both sides of the street, through the tract abCl'Te mentioned, but had failed
to return such deeds to the city. Clerk directed to communicate with Mr. Hall, adv18ing
him that the sidewalks are going through, and if the one foot, above mentioned, is not
deeded, the sidewalks may cause the removal of all the street trees' along the street.
SEWER SYSTEMI A representative of Burns-MoDonals-Smith Engineering Company,
the engineerS tor the proposed sewer system, presented a map of the city, showing the
route of the proposed sewer mains, including laterals. After a lengthy discussion
and upon motion by Mr. Wentworth, seconded by Mr. Lyons it was decided that the main
outfall will start at G Street and National Avenue, from thence westerly to the outlet,
and this portion, with the treatment plant will be put under the general bond issue;
the balance of the system to be under the district assessment plan. The motion carried
by the following vote, to-witl AYESI Truatees Wentworth, Bent, Peters, Shaw, Lyons.
NOES I None. ABSENT I None.
DOGS. VACCINATION OFI Marahal Clyne presented the matter of having all dogs
in the city vaccinated ae;ainst rabies; stating that the city of San Diego 111 infested
with dogs afflicted with rabies, and. that that city is now having all dogs inoculated.
Referred to the city attorney to procure a copy of the San Diego ordinance.
PLmIRER'S BONDI The bond of C. W. Hughes, as a master plumber, was acoepted
by the board, upon the reoollllllendation of the city attorney, on motion by Mr. Shaw,
seconded by Lyons, which oarried.
'l'REES. REl4QVING FROM STREETI A letter from Greg Rogers was presented, in which
Mr. Rogers asked pEl1'lllission to remove all the eucalyptus trees fronting his property
on E Street, both sides, from the entrance to his home, westerly to Bay Boulevard.
The request, also, asked for eiihteen months time in which to remove the trees and
replace thæ with suitable street trees. Referred to the Plauning Commission.
FIRE H~I A n=ber of residents residing near H Street and Sixth Avenue,
petioned for a fire hydrant at that location. Referred to the fire committee, with
power to act, upon motion by Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Wentworth. Motion carried.
PERIODICAL REPORTS: The monthly reports of the City Recorder and Co!lllltlIlity
Nurse, for the month of February, were presented, and ordered accepted and filed.
MUNICIPAL ELECTION: In the notice of the municipal election, to be held on
April 12, 1926, and which is to be published in the local newspaper, it was decided to
consolidate all the County and State Precincts, Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, into one
Preciåt, to be known as Consolidated Precinct A, and to hold the election in the City
Hall, with the polls open from 8100 a. m. to 7100 pn., upon motion by)fr. Shaw, sec-
onded by Kr. Wentworth, which carried by the following vote; AYES I Trustees Shaw,
Lyons, Wentworth, Bent. Peters, NOES: None. ABSENT I None.
Kr. Lyons offered Resolution No. 141, which 18 a resolution appointing the
election officers, and fixing their compensation for oonduoting the above mentioned
election. The resolution was read, and upon motion by Mr. Lyons, seconded by Mr.
Shaw, it was passed, adopted and approved by the following votel AYES I Trustees Lyons,
Wentworth, Bent, Peters, Shaw. NOES I None. ABSENTI None.
