'ñ1e Board met pursuant to adjournment, in the Counoil Chamber of the City Hall, on the above date, with President Peters presiding. Meeting called to order at 7,00 p.m. Present, Trustees Peters, Scott, Lyons, Wentworth, Barnes. \ l \ l SIDEWALKS. No.2, Bida for this work, opened at the last meeting, December 7, 1926, were presented by the City Attorney, and it was decided to accept the bid of Ches- ter O. Nelson, at the following figures, Sidewalk, 19 oents per square foot; curbing 55 oents per lineal foot, these figures to include all grading and removal of trees. Mr. Lyons then offered Besolution No. 178, which is a resolution aooepting the above bid of Chester O. Nelson. The resolution was read, and upon motion by Mr. Lyons. seoonded by Mr. Scott, it was passed, Bdo:¡t ed and approved by the following vote, to-wit; AYES, Trustees Lyons, Wentworth, Barnes, Peters, Scott. NOES, None. ABSENT, None. The city clerk then read the Notice of Award, which is to be published in the looal paper, the Chula Vista Star, and posted on the bulletin board of the city hall. GASOLINE CO~~RACT, Mr. Darrell L. Ihrig, of the Union Oil Company of California, presented a contract for gasoline for a period of one year, for acceptance. The price of gasoline is l~ cents per gallon, and kerosene 15 cents per gallon. The contract provides for a reduction in case the dealers' price being reduced and protects the city in case the price advances. The contract was accepted and the president of the Board authorized and instructed to sign seme, upon motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. Wentoworth, which carried by the following vote, to-wit: AYES, Trustees Barnes, Peters, Scott. Lyons, Wentworth. NOES: None. ABSENT: None. ORDINANCE No. 157: Upon motion by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Lyons, which car- ried, Ordinance No. 157 was placed on its first reading. This an ordinance changing the name of Owego Street to Sierra Way. GASOLINE TANK PLAC"'.') IN STREET, Mr. George Lott asked permission to install a gasoline tank. inside the curb line, at his new service station now being erected at the southeast corner of VaDee and National. This tank to supply a pump. The authority was granted, with the proviso that it may be revoked at any time by the Board of Trustees, upon motion by Mr. Wentworth, seconded by Mr. Scott, which carried by the following vote, to-wit: AYES, Trustees Wentworth, Barnes, Peters, Soott, Lyons. NOES, None. ABSENT, None. SITE FOR STJ.TE COLLEGE: Mr. T. C. Jlacaulay announced that the location of the new State College has been practically decided by the committee in charge, the site selected being the Bast Broadway site. in San Diego. Upon motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. Scott, this location, so far as this Board is concerned. is approved and recom- mended. The motion carried by the following vote, to-wit, AYES, Truste8s Barnes, Peters, Scott, Lyons, Wentworth. NOES, None. ABSE1'T, None. SIDEWALKS No.2. The report of the city engineer on the cost of the side walk, showing the amounts of each of the bids received, namely. Nelson's bid, $3744.67; Whittingham &: Tessitore's bid. t4928.67 BILLS PJ.ID, The following bills, as examined by the finance committee, were ordered paid, üpcn motionby Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Wentworth, which carried, 5781 Denrich Press, Printing, $166.00 5782 W.
