MINUTES OF Al'I ADJOUIDÅ’D REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, CHULA VISTA,
CALIFONRa, HELD DECEMBER 21, 1926,
The Board met pursuant to adJournment, in the Couno11 Chamber of the City Hall,
on the above date, with President Peters presiding, Meeting called to order at '.30
p,m. Present. Trustees Peters, Scott, Lwons, Wentworth, Barnes.
GASOLINE TANK IN STREETI JIr. W. E. Lewis asked the Board for permission to
install two gasoline tanks, inside the curb, at his service station, at the corner of
Second Avenue and E Street. The request was granted, with the proviso that the per-
mission granted is revokable at the option of the Board, upon motion by JIr. Scott,
seconded by Mr. Lwons, which carried.
CURBING CUT WITHOUT 'P'R!RUTSSION. The street superintendent reported that the
curbing at the southeast corner of Second Avenue and E Street, where a new service sta-
tion is being erected, without permission. The cutting of the curbing will hinder the
drainage, whioh passess under E Street at that point. The street superintendent and
city engineer were instructed to visit the point in question and arrange to have the
curbs replaced.
SUBDIVISIONS. A plat of Imperial Beach Gardens, a new subdivision now being laid
out at Imperial Beaoh, was presented to the Board for its approval. The location of this
subdivision is within the three mile limit of this city, and its approval is necessary
before t he plat can be put on record. The minutes of the City Planning CODIIIission were
examined, and as that body had approved the plat, upon motion by JIr. Scott, seconded
by Mr. Wentworth, it was approved by the Board, and the city officials required to siill
the plat, were authorized to sign the same on behalt of the city.
SUBDIVISIONS. Mr. Claude Conklin presented the plat ot Country Club Villa, which
is a resubdivi8ion ot part of Tarrytown, for approval. ~e City Planning Comminion
having approved the plat, upon motion by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Lwons, the plat was
approved and accepted, and the officials required to sign the plat were instructed and
directed to sign the same for and on behalf of the city. The motion oarried by the fol-
lowing vote, towitl AYES. Trustees Scott, Lyons, 'Wentworth, Barnes, Peters, NOES. None.
ABSXNT. None.
The streets in this subdivision not being completed, JIr. Conklin deposited a bond
in the sum of $5000, guaranteeing the completion Of the said st~eest, to the satistaction
of the street superintendent, within a period of one year. The bond was accepted, upon
the recommendation of the city attorney, whose recommendation was to the eftect that the
bond hsve the words. n Streets to be completed to the satisfaction ot the street super-
intendent of the City of Chu1a Vista" inserted. Mr. Conklin agreed to have the word in-
serted and the bond deposited with the city clerk immediately. !D%
Hlsolution No. 179. Mr. Lyons offered Resolution No. 179, which is a resolution
changing the name of Owego street, in the above subdivision, to Sierra Way. The resolution
was read, and upon motion by JIr. Wentworth, seconded by JIr. Lyons, it was passed,-adopted
and approved by the following vote to-wit. AYES I Trustees Wentworth, Barnes, Peters,
Soott, Lwons. NOES I None. ABSENT I None.
ZONING. Mr. Lwons offered Resolution No. lBO, which is a reolution authorizing
and directing the City Planning Commission to recommend to the Board, the boundaries ot
the various districts ot the oity into certain zones. The resolution was read, and upon
motion by Mr. Lwons, siconded by Mr. Wentworth, it was passed, adopted and approved, as
read, by the following vote, to-wit. AYES. Trustees Lwons, Wentworth, Barnes, Peters,
Soott. NOES. None. ABSENT. None.
JEWER DISTRICT No. 11 The bond ot Mr. H. H. Peterson, oontraotor tor installation
of the new sewer sYltem, wal aocepted by the Board, upon the recommendation of the oity
attorney. The bond idemnifies the city in the sum of $~B,!'6 in case the contraotor
tails to carry out the provisions of his contract; and $'6,616 in oale the contractor
fails to pay for the materials used in the work.
ORDINANCE No. 155. Upon motion by Mr. Lwons, seconded by Mr. Scott, which car-
ried, Ordinance No. 155 was p1aoed on its second and final reading. The ordinanoe was
read, and upon motion by Mr. Scott, seconded by. Barnes, it was passed, adopted and ap-
proved, as read, by the following vote, to-wit. AYES I Trustees Scott, Lyons, Wentworth,
Barnes, Peters. NOES. None. ABSENT. None.

ORDINANCE No. 156: Upon motion by ~~. Scott, secondeè by Mr. Lyons, Ordinance
No. 156 was placed on its second and final reading. The ordinance was read, and upon
motion by Mr. Lyons, seconded by 1~. Scott, it was passed, adopted and approved, as read,
by the folillowing vote, to-wit. AYEs I Trustees Lwons, Wentworth, Barnes, Peters, Scott.
NOESI None. ABSENT I None.

ORDINANCE No. 1571 Upon motion by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Barnes, which carried,
Ordinance.No. 157 was placed on its second and final reading. The ordinance was read,
and upon motion by 1~. Barnes, seconded by ~r. Scott, it was passed, adopted and approved,
as read, by the following vote, to-wit I AYES: Trustees Barnes, Peters, Scott, Lyons, Wentworth.
NOES I None. ABSENT, None.
@ ORDINANCE No. 156, Upon motion by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Lyons, which carrieJ'
Ordinance No. 156 was placed on its first reading. This is an ordinance establishing
regulations for the sewer system, now betn~ installed, known as the Sewer Ordinance.
In the pead1gg of this ordinance, each pai1l'tgraph was read. and discussed. considerable

POLICE DEPJ.RT~~: Another letter of commendation for meritorous and gentlemanly
conduct on the part Officers Kelly and Patterson, while making an arrest of a motorist
for violation of the Motor Vehicle Act, was received from Mr. E. M. Johann, of Los
Angeles, Calif. Upon motion by 1~. Scott, seconded by Mr. Barnes, which carried
unanimously, the clerk was instructed to hand the Police Department a copy of Mr.
Johann's letter, with a letter of transmittal, advising the Police Department of the
appreciation of the Board for the conduct of the offioers mentioned. The letter to
be brought to the attention of every officer on the Police force.
