~ Board met in regular session, in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, on the
above date, with President Peters in the cheir. Keeting called to order at 7100 p.m.
Present; Trustees Peters, Soott, Lyons, Wentworth, Barnes.
READING OF JlIJIIU'l'BSI ~e minutes of the last regular meeting of January ~th, and
adjourned regular .meetings of January 11th, 18th and 25th, were reed, and after correc'-
ing the minutes of Jan. ~th, relative to the appointment of Mr. :&dpr D. Boal as a mem-
ber of the planning commission, the minutes were approved.
ÁDVERTIS ING , Mr. Bartlett, of the San Diego Sun, asked the Board to take page
of advertising in the ÁJ1I1ual :&di tion of the Sun, to be published in March, next. His
prices area lull page, taOO.OO; half page, $250.00; quarter page, $1~0.00. Mr. Bart-
lett explained the terms, Conditions, and gave the ciroulation of the paper for this
edition. Mr. Barnes, moved, seconded by Mr. Scott, that no action be taken on the

FIHE SIRDI !the bids for the purchase of a new fire siren having been referred
to the Fire Committee, at the meeting of January~, 1927, to select the t7Pe of siren
desired, the Fire Committee reported that it had selected the bid of the Pacif Fire
lire BEtinguisher Company of Los Angeles, viII MOdel M Sterling Siren, 0 $325.00,
automatic control for same, 0 $50.00; 3" angle steel tower for mounting, .0 $1215.001
all as per specifications filed with the bid. The clerk was instructed to officially
notify the bid6er and enter into a contract for current for the siren, with the Ileatria
Company.

as a permanent fireman, to replace ](orris Lamb, resigned; salary of Jewett to oom-
menoe February 1, 1927. ~e recoDllendation was confirmed upon motion by Jlr. Lyons, ...-
onded by Mr. Wentworth, which carried.
PERIODICAL REPORTSI '!he monthly report of the City Reoorder and Fire Chief,
for the month of January, 1927, were read, and ordered filed.
ZONING, !Ir. R. M. Pray called the attention of the Board, to what he considers
faults in the pDOposed loning ordinance, and was informed that his suggestions would be
considered when the ordinance is presented for paaaage. 'J!he olerk was instructed to
rater the Boning map aDd proposed ordinanoe back to the Planning Collllis81on, .ogether
with that part of the minutes of this Board at the meeting held January 25th. This
matter referred to the Planning CoDllission for any remarks or changes th~ may wish to
make, if any. The matter of including bill boards in bhe ordinanoe to be brought to
the attention of the Commission.
SIDKWAT.~. No.2; The bonds of Chester O. Nelson, in conneotion with his contract
for this work, were presented by the city atto~, and upon his recoDllendation, they were
approved by the Street Superintendent and President of this Board, upon motion by !Ir.
Soott, seconded by 1Ir. Lyons, which carried.

BUILDING. SEWER and PLUMBING INSPECTOR, The following motion was offered by Mr.
Scott, That the salary of the City Building Inspector of the City of Chula Vista, be and
be fixed at $62.50 per month, payable month'y and to commence on the 1st day of February.
1927. The motion was seconded by Mr. Banres, and carried by the following vote, to-wit,
AYES, Trustees Scott, Lyons, Wentworth, Barnes, Peters. NOES None. ABSENT, None.
Mr. Wentworth offered the following motion, That the salary of the City PlillIlbing
Inspector of the City of Chula Vista. be and be fixed at $52.50 per month, payable monthly
and to commence February 1. 1927. The motion was seconded by Mr. Lyons, and carried by
the following vote, to-wit; AYES, Trustees Wentworth, Barnes, Peters, Scott, Lyons.
NOES I None. ABSENT, None.
!~. Scott offered the following motion; That the salary of the City Sewer Inspector
of the City of Chula Vista be and be fixed at $75.00 per month, payable monthly, and to
commence of the 1st day of February, 1927, and to be paid only out of funds collected by
said city from income from sewer permi ts, sewer work and income received by said city in
connection with sewer matters.*The motion was seconded. by Mr. Barnes, and carried by the
following vote, to-wit; AYES, Trustees Scott, Lyons. Wentworth. Barnes, Peters. NOES,
None. ABSE1'T, None. ..{and that R. J. Wharton be appointed as PlillIlbing Inspector, after
having been nominated by President Peters.
SEWER MAINTENANCE FUND, 'The following motion was made by Mr. Barnes, That all
sums received from Sewer Permits and sewer work of every kin4 received by the City of
Chula Vista, shall be kept in a separate fund, to be lmown as the "Sewer Maintenance Fund."
and shall be used exclusively for a maintenance fund for sewers, and the payment of all
officers and workmen, and the all material used, in the sewer department, and all expenses
of every kind in connection with city sewer work and sewer matters. The motion was seconded
by Mr. Lyons, and carried by the follOWing vote, to-wit, AYES, Trustees Barnes, Peters,
Soott, Lyons, Wentworth. NOES, None. ABSENT, None.
ADJOURNMENT, Upon motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. Scott, whioh carried, the
Board adjourned to February 15,1927, at 7,30 p. m.
