HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2024-236RESOLUTION NO. 2024-236 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING THE REVISED FISCAL YEAR 2024-25 COMPENSATION SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 13, 2024, AS REQUIRED BY CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS, TITLE 2, SECTION 570.5 WHEREAS, California Code of Regulations, Title 2, Section 570.5 requires that, for purposes of determining a retiring employee's pension allowance, the pay rate be limited to the amount listed on a pay schedule that meets certain requirements, including approval by the City’s governing body in accordance with the requirements of applicable public meeting laws; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Compensation Schedule ("Compensation Schedule") was approved by the City Council at their meeting October 8, 2024; and WHEREAS, any changes including but not limited to, across-the-board increases, classification changes and salary adjustments, approved subsequent to the date of approval, must be reflected on a revised Compensation Schedule and submitted to the City Council for approval; and WHEREAS, the revised Fiscal Year 2024-25 Compensation Schedule effective December 13, 2024, will reflect the addition of the Communications Officer, Senior Public Information Specialist and Special Events Coordinator position titles; the deletion of the Communications/Special Events Coordinator position title; and the adjusted salaries for the City Clerk and Real Property Manager position titles; and WHEREAS, this revised Compensation Scheduled reflects the adjusted salaries for Mayor, Councilmembers and the City Attorney effective July 1, 2024, in accordance with the City Charter. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, that it hereby does adopt, as required by California Code of Regulations Title 2, Section 570.5, the revised Fiscal Year 2024-25 Compensation Schedule effective December 13, 2024, in the form presented, a copy of which is available in the City Clerk’s Office, that reflects the addition of the Communications Officer, Senior Public Information Specialist and Special Events Coordinator position titles; the deletion of the Communications/Special Events Coordinator position title; the adjusted salaries for the City Clerk and Real Property Manager position titles; and the adjusted salaries for Mayor, Councilmembers and the City Attorney effective July 1, 2024.
