HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2024-144RESOLUTION NO. 2024-144 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN AND COMPENSATION SCHEDULE TO REFLECT THE ADDITION OF POSITION TITLES AND SALARY ADJUSTMENTS FOR CERTAIN CLASSIFICATIONS AND AMENDING THE AUTHORIZED POSITION COUNT IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the City, through the Police Department, entered into an agreement with the Office of National Drug Control Policy in 1996 to be the fiscal agent for the California Border Alliance Group (CBAG), which is now referred as the San Diego/Imperial High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA); and WHEREAS, per HIDTA policy, the FA (Fiscal Agent) Deputy Executive Director, FA Finance Manager, FA Director of SD LECC (San Diego Law Enforcement Coordination Center), FA Deputy Director of LECC, FA IVDC-LECC (Imperial Valley Drug Coalition Law Enforcement Coordination Center) Executive Director and FA Deputy Director of IV-LECC positions are tied to the Federal General Schedule Salary Table; and WHEREAS, in order to address the operational needs of the San Diego/Imperial HIDTA program, the Police Department, in conjunction with the Human Resources Department, is proposing the addition and deletion of position titles and salary adjustments for certain positions which necessitate amendments to the City’s Compensation Schedule, Classification Plan and Police Department position counts; and WHEREAS, the full costs of all HIDTA positions are reimbursed by the Office of National Drug Control Policy; and WHEREAS, a summary of updated classifications and the E-step salaries are as follows: Position Title Employee Group Bi-Weekly E Step Salary FA Deputy Executive Director Senior Management $6,716.12 FA IVDC-LECC Executive Director Senior Management $6,642.69 FA Finance Manager Mid-Management, Unclassified $6,066.66 FA Deputy Director of LECC Senior Management $5,531.35 WHEREAS, the salary adjustments for these four positions are retroactive to July 1, 2024. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, that it approves amendments to the Compensation Schedule and Classification Plan to reflect the changes above.
