RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CHULA VISTA APPROVING THE REVISED FISCAL YEAR
2023-24 COMPENSATION SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE
JANUARY 12, 2024, AS REQUIRED BY CALIFORNIA CODE
OF REGULATIONS, TITLE 2, SECTION 570.5
WHEREAS, California Code of Regulations, Title 2, Section 570.5 requires that, for
purposes of determining a retiring employee's pension allowance, the pay rate be limited to the
amount listed on a pay schedule that meets certain requirements, including approval by the
governing body in accordance with the requirements of applicable public meeting laws; and
WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Compensation Schedule ("Compensation Schedule")
was approved by the City Council at their meeting on September 12, 2023; and
WHEREAS, any changes including but not limited to, across-the-board increases,
classification changes, and salary adjustments, approved subsequent to the date of approval, must
be reflected on a revised Compensation Schedule and submitted to the City Council for approval; and
WHEREAS, City staff has revised the Compensation Schedule to reflect previously
negotiated salary adjustments for positions represented by the International Association of Fire
Fighters, Local 2180; Mid-Managers/Professional Association, SEIU; Non-Safety International
Association of Fire Fighters, Local 2180; and Western Council of Engineers; as well as scheduled
salary adjustments for unrepresented Mid-Managers and Professionals and those unclassified
hourly positions with a represented counterpart receiving a salary adjustment effective January 12, 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista,
that it hereby does adopt, as required by California Code of Regulations Title 2, Section 570.5, the
revised Fiscal Year 2023-24 Compensation Schedule effective December 29, 2023, in the form
presented, a copy of which is available , that reflects th e previously
negotiated salary adjustments for positions represented by the International Association of Fire
Fighters, Local 2180; Mid-Managers/Professional Association, SEIU; Non-Safety International
Association of Fire Fighters, Local 2180; and Western Council of Engineers; as well as scheduled
salary adjustments for unrepresented Mid-Managers and Professionals and those unclassified
hourly positions with a represented counterpart receiving a salary adjustment effective January 12, 2024.
