HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2023-205 RESOLUTION NO. 2023-205 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHULA VISTA APPROVING THE REVISED FISCAL YEAR 2023-24 COMPENSATION SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 29, 2023, AS REQUIRED BY CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS, TITLE 2, SECTION 570.5 WHEREAS, California Code of Regulations, Title 2, Section 570.5 requires that, for purposes of determining a retiring employee's pension allowance, the pay rate be limited to the amount listed on a pay schedule that meets certain requirements, including approval by the governing body in accordance with the requirements of applicable public meeting laws; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Compensation Schedule ("Compensation Schedule") was approved by the City Council at their meeting on September 12, 2023; and WHEREAS, any changes including but not limited to, across-the-board increases, classification changes, and salary adjustments, approved subsequent to the date of approval, must be reflected on a revised Compensation Schedule and submitted to the City Council for approval; and WHEREAS, City staff has recommended adjusted salaries for the Animal Care Aide, Clerical Aide, COVID Site Assistant, Intern (Graduate), Intern (Undergraduate), Library Aide, Lifeguard I, Lifeguard II, Park Ranger, Police Support Services Aide, Recreation Aide, Recreation Leader, Recreation Specialist, Seasonal Assistant, Senior Lifeguard, Tiny Tot Aide and Tiny Tot Specialist position titles. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chula Vista, that it hereby does adopt, as required by California Code of Regulations Title 2, Section 570.5, the revised Fiscal Year 2023-24 Compensation Schedule effective December 29, 2023, in the form presented, a copy of which is available Office, that reflects the adjusted salaries for the Animal Care Aide, Clerical Aide, COVID Site Assistant, Intern (Graduate), Intern (Undergraduate), Library Aide, Lifeguard I, Lifeguard II, Park Ranger, Police Support Services Aide, Recreation Aide, Recreation Leader, Recreation Specialist, Seasonal Assistant, Senior Lifeguard, Tiny Tot Aide, and Tiny Tot Specialist position titles. \[SIGNATURES ON THE FOLLOWING PAGE\] Resolution No. 2023-205 Page No. 2 Presented by Approved as to form by Tanya Tomlinson Jill D.S.
