CALIFORNIA, HELD NOVEMBER 22, 1927.
The Council met pursuant to adJouA,~uaent, in the Council Chamber of the City
Nall, on the above date, with Nayor Peters presiding. Meeting called to order at
7:$0 p.m. Present: Mayor Peters, Councilmen Barnes smd Scott. Absent: Cl.
Lyons ~d Hawkins.
COUNTRY CLUB VILLAS: This being the time set for receiving and opening bids
for the improvement of streets in Country Club Villas Subdivision, as heretofore ad-
vertised, the f~llowing bids were opened, examined a~xl publicly declared, viz:
Miracle Construction Company,
Bert Noble,
Pioneer Transfer Company of Calexico,
Stroud Bros. & Seabrook,
Watson & Sutton,
R. E. Hazard Construction Company.

The bid of the Miracle Construction Company being the lowest, and said bid
being in proper form and properly secured by bond, Cl. Barnes offered Resolution
~, which is a resolution of Award of Contract, awarding the contract to the
Construction Company. The resolution was read, and upon motion by Cl. Scott,
seconded by Cl. Barnes, it was passed, sdopted and approved, as read, by the follow-
ing vote, to-wit: AYES: Cl. Scott, Barnes, Peters. NOES: None. ABSENT: Cl. Lyons,
Hawkins.
~IREZONE. T_~.~Y BUILDING HEREIN: It appearing from the records that
a temporary permit was issued to J. T. George to erect and maintain a frame building
in the Dyer Tract, on 3rd ~senue, for a period of six months, on Oct. 26, 1926,
and the limit of the time having expired, upon motion by Cl. Scott, seconded by Cl.
Barnes, which carried, the clerkwas directed to order the building removed from
the fire zone, at once.
COUNTRY CLUB VILLAS: the waivers of Crouch and Sanders, Attorneys, and D. A.
Lobenstein, Engineer, relieving this city from any charges for work performed, in
case this subdivision is not carried through to completion, were approved and
accepted upon motion by Cl. Scott, seconded by Cl. Barnes, which carried.
C~TER STREET: In the matter of opening this street from T~dis to 2ndAvenne,
a letter from the San Diego & Arizona RY. Co., was read, in which that coml~ny thinks
that the city should reimburse it for the cost of c~ging its tracks to a now loca-
tion, in the amoxmt of $43§.00. Referred to the City Engineer, upon motion by Cl.
~arnes, seconded by Cl. Scott, which carried. The engineer was instructed to say
to the railroad COml~ny that the city does not feel that it should pay for the
oba~gingof railroad trac~ that are now obstructing the progress of the city.
ORDINANCE No. 175: Upon motion by Cl. Barnes, seconded by Cl. Scott, ~ich
carried, Ordinance No, 175 was placed on its second and final reading. It was read,
and was passed, adopted and approved, as read, by the following vote, to wit: AYES:
Cl. Scott, Barnes, Peters. NOES: None. ABSENT: Cl. Lyons, Hawkins.
ORDINANCE NO. 156: Upon motion by Cl. Barnes, seconded by Cl. Scott, which
carried, Ordinance No. 176, was placed on its second and final reading. It was read,
and was passed, adopted and approved, as read, b2 the following vote, to-wit: AYES:
Cl. Scott, Barnes, Peters. NOES: None. ABSENT: Cl. Lyons, Hawkins.
BILLS PAID: Upon motion by Cl. Scott, seconded by Cl. Barnes, which carried,
the following bills, after having been examined by the finance committee, were
