APRIL 16, 1928.
The City Council met pursuant to adjournment, in the Council Chamber of the
City Hall, on the above date, with Mayor Peters presiding. Meeting called to order
at 7~30 p.m. Present: Mayor Peters, Councilmen Scott, Lyons, Ha~kins, Barnes.
DECLARING REsuLT OF MUNICIPAL w~.w. CTION~ The Council proceeded to canvass the
votes of the municipal election, held April 9, 1928. The Result of the Votes Cast, se
submitted by the election board was ~-~lbited~by the clerk, and e~smtned by the COunCil.
Cl. Scott, then offered Resolution No, l~, which is a resolution d. eclaring the result
of the election, and is as foll~e:

AND WHEREAS, the City Council of said city, met in the council chmnber of the
Council, on Monday, the l$~h d~ of April, 1928, to canvass the returns of said election

That there was one voting precinct established for the purpose of holding said
election, consisting of the consolidation of the regular precincts established for hold-
ing general state an~ county electionS,, as follow~:
"Consolidated Precinct A", comprising state and county precincts Numbers 1, 2,

That the whole number of votes cast in said city, was
That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which they were voted

RESOLVED, therefore, that at said general municipal election, W. M. H~kins
was elected to the office of City Councilman , for the City of Chula Vista, California,
for the full term of four yeare,
ALSO, that Urn. T. Lyons was elected to the office of City C~ilman, for the City
cf Chula Vista, California, for the full term of four years.
ALSO, that Chas. P. Moles was elected
City for the full term of four years.
ALSO, that C. S. T~mmons was elected
the Full term of four years.
The clerk shall enter on the records
the election as set forth in the above.
The clerk shall Immediately make
certificate of election, signed by him and
the constitutional oath of office smd
be inducted into the respective offices to
to the office of City l~eas~er, of ~aid
to the office of City Clerk of said City, for
of the Board, a statement of the result of

Upon motion by Cl. Scott, seconded by Cl. Barnes, the foregoing resolution was
passed, adopted and approved, as read, by the following vote, to-wit: AYES: Cl. Scott,
Lyons, Ha~kins, Barnes, Peters. NOES: None. ABs~_~.~.~ None.
Mayor Peters then vacated his chair, and the clerk took charge of the meeting.
Clerk announced that nominations for the office of Mayor were then in order. Cl. Scott
moved that no change be made in the office of Mayor, and that no chs~ge be made in the
co~nitteas or appointive officee$ this was seconded by Cl. Barnes, and carried, Mayor
Peters voting No. The clerk then turned the meeting over to Ms,or Peters.

COUI~TRY CLUB VILLAS: A letter from the Miracle Construction Company, a~d a
letter from D. 0. Loebenstain, contractor and engineer, on the work comprised in Ac-
quisition and Improvement District No. 1, was read, in which an extension of 60 d~ys
in the time limit of the contract was at~ed. Cl. Barnes then offered Resolution NO.
241, which is a resolution authorizing the extension of time, as requested. It was
read, and was passed, adopted sad approved, as read, by the following vote, to-wit~
AYESs Cl. Scott, Lyons, Ita~kins, Barnes, Peters. i~0ESs None. ABs~NT~ None.
CHAMBER OF 00M~CE INDUSTRIAL LANDSs A letter from the Sa~ Diego Chamber of
0O~neree, to effect that it is conte~lated to sell all of its b~V front land in this
city, and use the funds fr~n such sale of land, to construct a Chamber of Commerce
Building in San Diego, was presented. It was proposed that this city transfer its
interest in said lands, amoxmting to $500.00, to said Building fund. Upon motion
by Cl. Rse~kins, escort{ed By 01. Barnes, which carried, the request was denied. Ma-.
Thanes F. Bomar, of the S. D. Chamber of C~eroe, stated verbally, that the said
$500.00 of this city, would be returned to the city, with 7% interest, as soon as
the sale of the land is consv, w, ated.
Cl. Scott then presented a petition, in which this city authorizes the sale
of the aforementioned land, to a syndicate, asking the city to authorize such sale.
Upon motion By Cl. Lyons, seconded by Cl. Bax'ne8, tho sale of tho land was approved,
a~d tho proper city officials required to sign the petition, authorized to 8o sign.
The motion carried by the following vote, to-wit: AYESs Cl. Lyons, H~ekins, Barnes,
Peters, Scott. NOESs None. ABS]~Ts None.
At this p~lnt, Cl. tt~klnz was excused ami left the Council Chamber.
FIT~ C~IEF C0h~fE~ION: Au invitation to attend the Fire Chiefs' Convention
at Coronado. from the City of Coronado, was read. and clerk authorized to a~knowlodge
receipt, with thanks.
UNivERSAL TRAFFIC ORDINANCEs The Auto 01ub of So. California presented a uni-
form traffic ordina~_~e, as ad~pted By E1 Ca jori, with the information that the club will
famish copies printed i~ book form, without cost. Clerk instructed to notify Auto
Club that as soon as San Diego adopts its traffic ordinance, this city will, also,
adopt a uniform o~dinanco.
EXTENDING 0 STI~ TO BAY:gin the matter of extending G Street to the bay,
Cl. Scott offered Resolution No. 242, which is a resolution authorizing the purchase
of 20 feet of land from the Tracy Art Brick sad Stone Company, with certain reserva-
tions. The resolution was reed, and was passed, adopted and approved, as reed By the

S~I]IMING IN GRAVEL PITs Ma~or Peters introduced the complaint of Nelson & Sloan
that boys of this city, are using the gravel pit of that compmy, for a swimmingplace,
and asking the city to place a guard there. As the place in question is outside the
city limits, no action could be taken.
